Where's the best place to buy tickets for this? I cannot find any for the $40. And it is just a one-day event, yeah? Is there no schedule for it yet?
^click the link above, click buy tickets, then click the 40 dollar ticket, directs you to a ticket master page for it

They're headlining the show at the electric factory then separately doing a dj set at the afterparty at the dolphin. They did that the last few times they've played in Philly and it's awesome consistently, if you're 21+ you should def go.

Yeah I'm a bit confused about the setup here... Will there only be one stage? Seems like a short amount of time for all those bands to be shuffled in and out.

Awesome videos! Dave was starting to ask us to sing Jimmy at the Indy show but it didn't take with the audience

Thanks, though I can't take credit for the videos. I WISH i had been there! I just found them on IG, my bedtime routine involves trolling instagram for #AnimalCollective-- trying to will my subconscious into giving me an AC dream. This is how I deal with the sinking realization that I am likely going to have to wait at least 3-4 years before I get to see Animal Collective again.

not implying that at all, this is just really out of character for avey, as a longtime fan it was fairly shocking. this is a different kind of 'goofy' and wild than yr typical AC show. i mean, he probably just got drunk, it was a beer-sponsored festival. avey has said he has to drink on tour just to fall asleep on the bus. no judgements here, it's just avey acting in a way i've NEVER seen or heard before...

Hey man, I didn't go to pabst phili but just watched the show for the first time and was surprised as well but in good ways. I think it's a state of things. May I review life at large
For Americans at least, our country is in an intensively conflicted point. We are split and divided in so many ways and reminded of it. Having a healthy network of friends and family to share commonalities with, in a tribe, for survival and enjoyment in life, is very much becoming more essential than it was in the past - you can't guarantee a network of support from existing systems of lifestyle welfare and enrichment. There could be a million examples of this in every medium, but just bare with me
Interests and groups that transcend the walls that normally divide us and keep us from one another are powerful, and can be amazingly good at influencing and reaching people, the world - you tap in to a bit of everything, BECAUSE you are skipping over and flying over the walls. Musical groups.
Animal Collective lasts and presides because we all hear and see something in them that we love, and it can evoke it in so many different people. What if we all let loose as comfortably that we admire in them, our three best friends so casually just letting go so joyfully - and really let one another in, to move us? What if we came together like a sea of rabidly receptive souls and became an instrument in unison with songs, danced and sung some of the verses together, and felt something very, very special occur? Collectivity, a living breathing organism, could unify in mind and produce some very collectively transcendent moments for everyone there. The minds are accepting, together, have defenses down, and enable and empower each other to have dreams and inspirations realized.
I experienced some absolutely insane personal realizations at animal collective camping weekend in big sur, and this show has strongly reminded me of it.
We know what large groups of people working together can do, Dave knows what big collectives are capable of, Animal Collective represents something awesome. There may be an apex moment in a show or setting with the band where the crowd and the band create something contagiously euphoric, and that's what is on his mind
The lyrics right after this interlude banter during jimmy mack are also extremely relevant, are they not? If this has been on his mind for years and he's trying to see how strong of a movement musical can create, he's saying .. I wanna say I'm not getting any stronger, I can't hold out very much longer, Trying hard, to be true
Maybe it's true that he was 'drunk', but all those substances do is remove inhibitions to what is still brewing behind
and it could be considered rude to say someone doing this is somehow weird and goofy. think of the people, man
