Yeah Recycling is awesome. Def another highlight.
I've come around to Golden Gal a lot recently. And have new found appreciation for Summing the Wretch since seeing it live. Conversely, I think Natural Selection is probably the weakest thing on this since seeing it live.

Lying in the Grass to Burglars is one of their best 1-2 punches ever.
It's not as good overall as CHz.
The songs I liked the most on first listen (Vertical, Natural Selection) and least (LitG, Recylcing) have completely switched
Vertical shouldn't have been on the album, Gnip Gnop should have
7/10 overall, good companion to Grim Reaper, very cool direction with lots of great songs, gets a little samey, excited to see it live and see where they go from here

MY FEET CAN'T CROSS THE PARKING LOT, THE PARKING LOT IS WAY TOO HOT
How can you hate that chorus.
Also, I love your avatar crushhigh. I've never seen that photo before.

It's not that I hate it, it's just maybe the only time that Ive felt some peoples criticisms about AC being too saccharine or childish are true. And it repeats for too long at the end
Also, thanks, I found it buried deep in the pics thread

first time I heard the parking lot chorus I thought it was kinda repetitive but I got over it and I'm on board w/ it now

I'd like them to do it record without some overarching concept or conditions. 'Back to basics' is such an alarming concept. It basically means 'we don't have any particular idea'.

New Geo interview. It would be quite amazing if they released that audio from 1996!

Fuck the manch gig had vertical, gnip gnop and recycling. Guess you can't win em all baby.
I've been thinking about what they might play at Prima. They've a lil two week break before it. Enough time for me to message Avey and convince him to break out the necessary Bat You'll Fly accoutrement from under his bed.

painting with is growing on me. at first i kinda liked bagels in kiev and lying in the grass. now i really like them. i started listening to on delay for that groovy kick drum and keyboard part in the middle. now i like the whole song pretty much. i still don't know about the rest of the album.

I listened to painting with in its entireity tripping .... its definitely an ac album ...
Like all songs sequenced perfectly ...
When youre sober , its like one album with set lyrics ...
When youre tripping , you can distincively hear these psychedelic references in there ...
For example , in vertical , my feet cant cross the parking lot cause its way to hot ...
I couldnt get out of the car because i was nice and warm in there ...
This album just as good as any other ...
Hallelujah ...

man I can't get over how much Panda's voice shines in this album! from "A MIX OF SKY FROM MONTANA" to "Who needs slicker tools", he just does not put a foot wrong

when it freebirded (both crossley and hq) I listened to it non stop -- I liked it a lot, but I never really loved it. gave it a couple months or so break, returned to it this morning, and it's really becoming better and better.
it's hard for me to find faults with this album outside of "OMG PANDA HOCKETING UGH!" and that's like a thing you get used to, and then you hear all of these nuanced little details in his songs, and then the hocketing sounds interesting and cool. and every avey song pretty much is incredible -- like seriously, he is in top form here.
I was also lukewarm on cHz and then it became an insane obsession for me. thx for making 2016 cool, painting with.

I'm really hoping for "Hocus Pocus" on Colbert! But anything shall be dope!
Also, I am 'Lordlicorice' on vimeo, but the site has been cracking down and isn't letting me post many late night performances anymore. If anyone wants hd Boys Latin from Fallon last year, let me know.
(I also have hd mbv music videos on that channel with the remastered audio, if any of y'all are also big mbv fans

Yes i remember of course it was a great night !
Floridada started it all ... great beginning ... then it shuffled the songs ...
Hocus Pocus for example , were out on the freeway this morning , no dinosaurs to worry about ...
I was driving and seeing almost dinosaur like visuals .... no coincidence ... funny little sample ...
Thats really what i remember for psych references ... thats just my interpretation ...
Rest of album was solid as always though ... i wish i could tell more ...
But yeah vertical is another way of saying tall or "high" ...
Pretty sure these guys are still on one ... if not , well thats fine too
