DUDE. Deradoorian, Dan Deacon, FUCKING SUN RA (legendary shit, and very rare opportunity to see them live), Pictureplane-- that's just off first glance. This lineup is really good, if I were on the east coast I would be willing to pay more than $100. You just might need to do some digging, happy researching :-)

i've never gotten into any of them  besides dan deacon and i've seen him live already. but that makes me realize i should check them all out and then i'll have more of a reason to go! i've heard good things about sun ra, and i really like what i've heard of deradoorian. thanks for letting me know where to start :)

deakin posted this on fb, got me hyped:

"This Saturday (August 20th) I will be playing a set at Fields Festival: August 19-21, 2016 in Maryland. There are more bands playing that I am excited to see than I have space to mention. I highly encourage you to come. The energy and intention behind this festival is something that I believe to be very unique and promises to be an experience that is more than the sum of the bands that are playing. Don’t sleep on this if you are in the MD, VA, or DE area. This will not be your average festival experience. Hope to see you there"

see y'all there

it was amazing hello. he played guitar n vocals and had 3 others in his band.

setlist:
just am
golden chords
footy
good house
harpy (?? it was more noisy and had a sample but idk if it was new or an old song)

annoyingly for the band, there were tech problems and they started late... their monitors were failing so they played kinda blind. josh said it sounded like he was playing in a tin box.. and during the last song he busted a string :( but seriously for the crowd it sounded amazing, they completely killed it and I'd see him again in a heartbeat. this album goes straight to the heart.

go deak

Yeah I felt kinda bad for deak, he seemed super unsatisfied with the sound for most of the performance. Technical difficulties were kind of a common thread throughout most of the festival, and it almost seemed like he got the worst of it. Still definitely put on a great set tho. Good House was probably the best part and the just best version I've ever heard of that song. The last song was super good too.

The whole festival was amazing btw. So many incredible bands.

Felt super bad for Josh, the generator powering his mixer went down pre-show, and a string broke mid show. He seemed super bummed out and aggravated. Over all, I enjoyed his set, and he seemed to be enjoying the rest of the weekend. Anyone pick up a shirt? Yours have bleach spots? Rumor is that he hand bleached a batch of them?

yeah thought josh seemed super bummed as well, hope he realizes he still put on a really good show. thought golden chords was super powerful with the full band, enjoyed that one a lot. also the last song was definitely harpy, the version with the sample, forget if that's 'harpy red' or 'harpy blue'. such a good set

^and yeah i saw 2 people wearing shirts that looked very similar to his shirts from back in the day, was wondering if those were deakin shirts!
