Watch out King Gizzard, there's a new infinitely looping album in town! (Not sure if this was intended re: the title but everything transitions seamlessly as if it were one long loop)

I'm in the spare bed now so I can listen to this without keeping my wife up. Just me and my cat, tears in my eyes. Golden Chords has just hit me hard now I'm starting to listen to the lyrics. Those vocal leaps really make me swoon and I've got a lump in my throat. I've not felt this way about any music for a long time.

Hey Josh! Not really an active poster here, I kinda just lurk in the shadows but I had to come out and say one, amazing album!! So thrilled that you put out something your satisfied with and that it highly exceeded the expectations of us eager animals. Second the post you wrote above about communication is probably the reason why animal collective is my favorite band. It just seems like you guys are always pushing for people to better themselves, even outside of your music. Trying to get people to take a minute to breathe, zoom out, and take a look at the bigger picture of peace and love and all around good vibes. Right back at ya! I hope you have a happy and successful 2016!

Man, Mr deakin! This is so good! You're an amazing lyricist and musically, this is magical and beautiful. Great job my man! Thanks for keeping the communication channels open. This album is fantastic.

Lol this is the time where I avoid this thread until I've actually had a chance to hear the music and then by that time there are 20 new pages or more and I usually can't be bothered looking through again after that
So bye maybe

Never mind I take it back, there's been some cool conversations in here and not just reactions to the music either, I might try to keep up a bit longer

Footy and Good House. Holy shit. They both have a really unique mood, the latter in particular just feels so pensive and like it emerged out of the ground after several thousand years, the remnant of some forgotten civilisation.

Gosh, Deakin, this is amazing. You guys really killed it this year. As if Painting With wasn't good enough already, your album comes almost out of the blue and it's just beautiful. Now the people who disliked PW and wanted something old-school sounding will also be pleased. It really sounds like something straight out of the Feels era, but at the same time like something completely new. I just love it, I am proud of all four of you. Keep it up!

Good House turned out to be everything I could've wanted and more. It seems that Josh really came into his own vocally on it especially. So many emotions...

This is amazing Deakin; Footy and Just AM are like, masterpiece level. I also get a general bayou vibe out of the whole release and it's really great. Thanks for everything!

I know what you mean. Only a handful of albums that I can think of, (Carrie and Lowell, Person Pitch, Feels, now Sleep Cycle) have produced this level of sustained empathy, where I feel completely connected to the relatablity within the music. These also happen to be the albums with some of my favorite lyrics.

I was not at all prepared for how incredible this album is! Each track is so unique yet it flows so beautifully from start to finish. I definitely hear elements of all of my favorite AC albums, it's really cool to finally be able to pinpoint what Deakin brought to those.
Also nobody has mentioned ODDSAC comparisons yet but I think Seed Song > Good House has very similar vibes

Incredible vibes on this record. By the time I reached Good House, I'm just feeling the warmth. Josh I want to thank you for this

wow that was great
Josh - if you get this - just wanted to say, big fan of yours ever since I first saw AC
it was the pre-CHz tour and y'all opened with Wide Eyed, which still remains a favorite of mine
Country Report is stellar as well
the new jams sound awesome. I'm glad you and so many others are stoked about the final product
hope its goo times all points
P.S. if you plan on touring this year and it's not too late, come to Madison, WI! the Majestic is a pretty sweet venue. I've caught both Dave solo (and again with Slasher Flicks) and Noah's solo sets there. the High Noon Saloon is pretty dope too if you dig western vibes. but if its too late, no worries. I'll make it out to Chicago if I can!

This release almost seems like it will be an antidote of sorts for main AC stuff at the moment with how different the style and sound of music is (judging from descriptions). Same with Merriweather and ODDSAC, or Campfire Songs and Here Comes the Indian for example. I love that contrast.

He was the engineer for Dave yeah but I would credit Dave as the main producer

to my eye, the way this project is being presented to people makes it feel like a sort of gift or tribute to people who have stuck with the guys for a long time & supported them in their endeavors. kind of a weird time to be a somewhat new fan of them. I could only dream of how I'd be so amazed right now if I had been a fan way back when this all began so I could have the time to grow with Josh's songs like some people on here. but I haven't been a fan for longer than a couple years, so it's a bummer i won't have the same catharsis everyone else is when I hear the album, but seeing everyone else's joviality & good feelings makes me really happy
thank you CA members & Deakin & Animal Collective, god bless

All times are UTC
