hearing the studio version of good house is such an awesome and beautiful feeling. it must be amazing for josh, but even as fan, i have this weird sense of pride? like i remember first getting into AC and soon after that the first Deakin solo shows/tour started and a bunch of people recorded boots. and this song immediately spoke to me and became a kind of prayer for me

but hearing this now feels so weird and powerful. i hate being so fanboy-y and shit, but this song means a lot to me. i used to listened to those 2010 boots so much, those songs meant so much to me.

so hearing this feels like hearing from a long lost friend and they're really happy or whatever shitty metaphor i can use to get my point across. the first notes of that loop just unleashed a world of feelings and texture that took me immediately back to when i was obsessed with those boots

i have a question. for those of you who received packages. did you you all see that there are three cards in the package? letters to you as backers and an explanation of downloads? links to videos? PDF copy of the book, etc? I've been surprised that no one seems to have watched the videos yet. maybe stats haven't caught up. but I am concerned that somehow people are just pulling out the cassette and not realizing there is more in the envelope.

I think the one card I almost missed was the actual download code affixed to the box housing the cassette. I was too distracted by the manic opening and letter reading to notice it at first.

I also thought it'd be in good spirits not to mention the videos or post photos of the cassette until the 8th just in case there are backers who have yet to receive their package (it's been a long wait after all and to have all that anticipation come undone on the internet wouldn't be as fun)

yes it is! and it also incorporates that untitled jam from the dj sets that they did in 2014, so cool. footy, good house, and when i get home are all better than i could have possibly imagined, and i'm the type who is often disappointed hearing studio versions after listening to bootlegs for so long (demoitis or whatever people have been calling it here). so happy with how this came out. i was a little taken aback on the first listen by how different the overall vibe is (i feel like it's less 'space-y' than the boots, dunno how to better describe it), but by the third listen i'm totally floored. so good. just wish island chase was on there too but all in all i'm so happy with this!

"Golden Chords" also seems to be an evolution of the song called "II" on the 2010 bootlegs. It uses some of the same lyrics/melody but is totally different musically. The backing music in "Seed Song" also sounds familiar, I think part of 2Friends if I'm not mistaken.

Just finished, Between Violet and Blue. That was really rad. Some great footage you captured Josh. Brian did a great job putting it together. I just wanted it to keep going at the end though. Dove into the bonus tracks, the first one is so awesome. It keeps going beyond where it ends in the video and there's vocals! lovin dis whole experience.

i know you probably stopped lurking josh, but thank you so much, i was going through a rough patch and this is taking my mind off a lot right now. so happy for you and i really hope you continue producing solo output because this is super special.

pretty amazing how cohesive this manages to feel even though the main tracks are very different in sound, approach and emotion. also really hope this lays to rest all the "deakin stole our kickstarter money" jokes and memes because this release is triumphant as fuck.

yeah as soon as I heard good house start to fade in I got mega chills. Sad that this release is so short, easily one of the best things I've heard in a while. The PIANO in just am, good lord. That song is pure magic.
