Thanks again for your honest and generous communication with fans, Deakin. I'm unfortunately not one of the original Kickstarter backers, but have been very eagerly looking forward to this. Congratulations on finally getting this out there, it must feel great. I know I'll be purchasing at the earliest available opportunity.

Hey Deak. I was too young to support the kickstarter back when, but I can't wait to hear (and see) what you've got in store. I know how good it feels to finally complete something you've been working on for a while and am glad you're happy with it. Thanks for the update

P.s. I doubt that any of this is worthy of a post on a news site. But id ask politely that if anyone is drawn to do so... Please don't. It means a lot to me that I can have direct communication with fans without feeling like the things I say here might show up somewhere else. . and at this point all of the materials will be public in a matter of a couple weeks anyway.
sadly, a news vulture or two usually finds out what is being said around here whether we like it or not

i hope everyone who reads this can respect it though. we really really appreciate your taking the time to share some words with us nonetheless. i am beyond psyched for this project and everything you've got coming up!!!

I was also too young (and unaware haha), but I've listened to those '10 boots and wow... Seriously not a single weak track. I know it was said the tracklist of this release won't have most of those songs but I'd still like to reiterate my excitement to hear this finished product.
Oh yeah and I ordered some of those Deakin Keeps so I'm also excited for the secret part of those, plus they look really comfy

I remember you mentioning someone you were hoping would work on video stuff for you but you were even less sure of it happening at the time, sounds like it's working out though so that's real cool.
Hope you can come to NZ for a show again some time Josh! I was so bummed you guys couldn't make it last time so I missed out on meeting you in person and seeing you play with the band, but that's life.

I remember having a conversation with Josh after he and Geo's dj set in Toronto last year about CD's being more or less just a file transfer format these days, after giving him a CD of my music. Such a genuinely good person! I wonder if he listened to my CD... I feel kinda self-concious about the music I put on there at this point haha.

So stoked to think this might finally be on its way to me at the end of the week. I hope USPS can work a miracle and ship swiftly to the West Coast for a change.

And once there is word I'm fairly certain we'll be waiting a few days to a week before the packages start to arrive and anyone is able to listen to the tape / download.

crazy to think about this finally coming out after all these years...it doesn't seem like a long time but it really was, i remember being a sophomore in high school and listening to the bootleg of his first show on an ipod mini while walking down the train tracks in my town, and here i am now, a senior in college...definitely some of the defining music of high school and college for me. long time. the worst was when there were like 6 month spans with no updates and we were all like '...so is this still happening?' lol. so fucking psyched about this, feels like both the start AND end of an era!

just got another email from Deakin, there's been an issue with the book printing and it's delayed at least another week
