anyone see this interview on JamBase with Avey?
http://www.jambase.com/article/talking- ... album-more
Some quotes I found interesting and exciting.
JamBase: What kind of material can fans expect to hear from you on the road in 2016?
AT: A lot of new material. Since we haven’t ever played it live it’s what we’re most excited about. Also some old favorites, surprises and things we may be tinkering around with.
JamBase: Would you ever do anything like Phish does where the soundboard is for sale online the day after the show?
AT: We want to get to a point with our website where we’re putting out more shows for free and not having to rely on releasing shows as mastered records. It’s cool to release nice quality vinyl-type versions of live shows, but yeah, we’d like to have our own database where fans can add their shows to our recordings and it becomes a cohesive library.

is OD about someone walking their dog in Camden, New Jersey where i go to school, or is it about 2 mannequins escaping their store displays and going to a baseball game at Rutgers-camden, or is it about a echo and narcissus type scenario? is avey describing someone being stalked thru time by an inter-dimensional phantom assassin who is actually that same person in the future so when he comes back he gets caught in a delay loop. i also basically took a class on mannequins/puppets in literature last fall at rutgers-camden, think aveys stalking me.

haha! haven't read a rolling stone review in yearsssss but this is just classic. i love it
"Animal Collective strip away the reverb, hit the accelerator on a delightfully absurd LP
Avant-pop institution Animal Collective have specialized in ecstatic noise explorations for more than a decade. But their 10th album skips the signature escape-pod reverb washes, speeding up the tempos and shortening the song lengths to come up with the zippiest music they've ever made. Animal Collective's core trio recorded Painting With at an L.A. studio once frequented by the likes of Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys, and in a sense the music splits the difference between those poles. The intersecting harmonies of "FloriDada" suggest Pet Sounds sped up to Ramones velocity, and "Natural Selection" features electric viola from John Cale.
The music is as transporting as ever – AnCo's spastic group vocals remain a thing of nutrageous beauty. The songs just hit liftoff five times faster than ever before, driven hard by Panda Bear's cartoonishly expressive slapstick-EDM beats. The results are weirdly addictive and enjoyably absurd. "Golden Gal" samples Bea Arthur from an old Golden Girls episode, and "Hocus Pocus" opens with a drive-time traffic reporter informing us we won't need to worry about seeing any dinosaurs during our morning commute. Good to know – in Animal Collective's reality, hitting a Piatnitzkysaurus out on the 405 feels totally plausible."

Bit late to the show, new member but long-time AC fan. Froth this album!
It's funny - I know that AC albums generally take a few listens to fully sink in for me, and as I was listening to this one I had the audacity to think "I just don't see how this will appeal to me that much even after heaps of listens". But hell yeah it does appeal to me now.
Just curious, I pre-ordered the CD but not the vinyl (don't have a player). Can anyone tell me what the two "bonus tracks" that supposedly came with it are like? And if they have names?

I wasn't planning on buying this album on vinyl but I have really been falling for it, so I swung by the record store on my way home from work and picked up their last geo cover. also got the slipmat, I'll probably listen to a digital copy while staring at it spinning around by itself sometime lol.
