Bagels and The Burglars are gonna be the next big jams I think (what about a sick blend of the two called Burglars in Kiev). On Delay sounds like such a good finisher for a show. Honestly I wish they would have switched its position with Recycling on the album.

Spilling Guts needs to be longerrrrrrrrr, this song has grown on me the most out of any other tracks. The part at "take the hit or take the fall" is classic AC chills for me.

I just called Union Transfer and the woman I spoke to said that she was unaware of any sort of stream. Someone should message Avey on Instagram.

ok wow I just clicked around on the site linked in the video description and it's actually extremely sketch/fake looking. I'm guessing the stream is fake. Dammit

People do this often. He seems pretty receptive and usually responds. Don't see what's wrong with using it as a channel to ask him questions as long as people don't abuse it and as long as he seems cool with it

PW has received great reviews in France so far from Rock and Folk (4/5) and Les Inrock (4,5)!! They say the band deliberately started from scratch with this album and managed to bring more fresh ideas to pop music with 1 album than 99% of ordinary indie bands in their entire career

love to everyone, looking forward to seeing the band at la Cigale in Paris
Also, New Noise gave it 8.5 out of 10 !

The slip mat thing is pretty amazing. I used the strobe light in the app while playing Recycling through my speakers and just spinning the slip mat on my turntable. The little water drops on the slip mat match up with the watery beat.

heh the whole song plays with descriptions of delay/echo
doubly clear
the sound coming after
slap the world back at ya (slapback delay)
a feedback zone
it really is an ode to delay

Are there any songs on this album that strike you guys as lending themselves well to extended live jams?
I'm thinking recycling
i think u guys nailed it with recycling, litg, and ambient passage into bagels/middle of bagels. im also thinking the end of on delay has big potential for a really long ambient passage

My LP still hasn't arrived... I'm ticked, man. I would've rather taken the hour drive out to Jersey City on Tuesday and picked it up than wait here not knowing when it's coming.

I'm not going to bother Avey about it again since we've talked so much in the last few days. I'd say monitor the stream, but I'm still going to record the whole show tonight and try to have it up on youtube by tomorrow

By the way, hopefully someone going tonight will have a higher quality mic with them. I think someone said they will. I'm recording the show with my iPhone 6, so i'm not worried at all about the video quality, and the audio should be fine, but if you want a nice boot to be able to listen to, i'll leave that duty to someone else

hm maybe. i keep trying to listen for that damn kiddie pool....
i think its weird that Golden Gal is probably my least favorite song : / feels odd cuz its a single and most people seem to be way into it. id take burglars or OD over it anyday tho... its just no lion in a coma/nmr or mercury man/pulleys. still solid tho

I've been pretty busy and doing some other stuff so only listened to this sparingly. Just listened to it all the way through while playing The Witness and it absolutely flew by. Pure bouncing. It does fill its own hole in their discography and I agree with the quote above that it'll be looked back upon as something special. I feel the immediacy of the presentation is quite off-putting at first, at least with certain songs, but once you get through the surface layers, it's such a rich and well balanced record. Not an ounce of fat on it. I also really really love the little flourishes of piano, particularly on Summing The Wretch, it's finally made me fall for that song too.

so pumped for this tour.
Still digging this album.. listening for what it is an not wishing for something long past, it's solid and very enjoyable..
The last two songs are by far my favorite. Golden Gal melodies in my head constantly.. I think Recycling is one of my all time AC faves...love that song...
Actually think Floridada is pretty great too now

I think he was actually talking about Chz there! Which I agree with. I think Chz is such a masterpiece. There are sonic moments on that record which I feel like are completely unparalleled.
Love Painting With too!

This is a great album for making art, which fits considering the title. I listened to it at least 4 times last night while doing illustration work.

Yeah, definitely! I've been drawing while listening to it and flows so well as a creative accompaniment.

this record is awesome. so freakin solid.... and amazing textures/production/energy/writing/singing/lyrics. like everything lol... probably my only complaint is that i sorta wish they let a couple songs in the middle zone-out a bit, and they kiiinda do on OD, but if OD and bagels had even bigger outros or intros thatd be awesome. cant be mad tho, the flow is amazing and i bet we'll get that side of things on bootlegs (tooonightttt!!!).
also feel like this album almost works as a companion to chz. has a somewhat similar techno-jungle feeling to the instrumentation (tho i think pw takes this further and is even better in that department) but with chz you get longer songs sung by a single member and its a bit angstier and more emotional while pw is all abt the harmonies/vocal arrangements and a somewhat homogenized energy and happy feeling.... so if u get tired of one the other one is kind of like an alternate take on a somewhat similar sound set. if u want more emotional guitar/deakin/single vocalists u play that chz and if u want a bouncy/harmony-heavy/shorter vibe u hit up pw. ac rlly meets my needs...
