I wish people would appreciate Animal Collective giving us every possible dynamic of their spectrum...but im not going to start expecting people to do the right thing at this point in my life

This album's songs are the answer to when you wanna be in their vibe but you dont wanna murk it out with 5 minute+ long songs (w/huge intro/outros)

For that purpose, I think they succeeded, and if you cant click into that, you just suck, sorry

Lost count of how many times I listened to this tonight.
Had it on loop playing splatoon with my brother. We both laughed every time at the opening sample to hocus pocus. We both drummed a lot on the shit around us. On Delay is incredible, feels like fast forwarding through pictures and clips of a trip. Beautiful.

PW has received great reviews in France so far from Rock and Folk (4/5) and Les Inrock (4,5)!! They say the band deliberately started from scratch with this album and managed to bring more fresh ideas to pop music with 1 album than 99% of ordinary indie bands in their entire career

Whats up ODDSACs .... this is the first week in 3 months I've hardy been on here.. So awesome so many of yous enjoying their new album!! I haven't been able to put it down myself!

i did read somewhere about the missing "wtf" moment on the new album ... My "WTF" moment was the WHOLE album. Lyrical too ... its astonishing that (Avey I'm referring to) how many creative ways he can use words to make an old subject seem new. As I love all their LP's and EP's for all different reason, this album is no exception.

no it's not fair.
it's as easy to say that than to say " there's magic missing" like I myself said.
but it's indeed very hard to explain, if it can be explained at all,
but as an AC fan I know AC is precisely not the band to fit in any pre-existing hole, they always shifted in form with every album, and that's part of why we're all such big fans.

it's about they way they used sound that was always so sophisticated and ingenious , that arose from their own magic feels-place (wich is not a place ofc, hence the problem of the linguistic explanation of art .) and it's precisely that wich you cannot explain, in any art form.

there's still ingenious moments that i feels on this album, i mean, they're still inventive as hell, but it's just not as mindblowing and inspired/inspiring.

just listen to Unsolved mysteries, Also Frightened, WWIS, Mr.Fingers/Kindle Song, Cuckoo cuckoo, Water Curses, and so on, and so on.

listening to them, they're all so different and can't be fitted in any AC-hole except for their extraordinary use of song-structures, sounds and feels in a degree that I cannot hear in any of these songs (or any of the Chz songs, except for Monkey Riches maybe)

but again, I do love this album, I love the light there is in this thing, the joy and the uplifting melodies
wich are inventive and playful ( a thing I missed since Chz) and very well-composed.

I can't listen to anything else atm, it grows,
and I smile with each listen,
something wich I haven't done with any new AC-rellated album since Chz.

Seems like we all (mostly) like different things for different reasons - because music is personal - but we all like Animal Collective, and we're alive, and here, and we're going to enjoy the shit out of these lives shows. Makes me happy!

For some reason, the bright, sunny, and clear vocals are very "spring" and earnest and hopeful. I felt the same about Rihanna's new album as well. There's a kind of bright sunshine to the vocals that seems to be a new trend that makes me happy.

That's sick that someone is streaming the show, but I will say that it looks a little sketch to me, like it's just a random yt channel called "Streaming 2016" that I've never heard of before. Just don't wanna get psyched for the stream if it ends up being shitty quality/bad sound etc. The link in the video description also seems kinda sketch

but hey, I wasn't aware of this stream's existence until this morning so if it turns out to be not that great, I won't really be disappointed
