Natural Selection is the shit, really underrated. The synth in the background syncs up with pandas repeated syllables in a satisfying way

For me this with bagels is the best back to back on the album

I wish the middle groove section of Recycling never ended and the album faded out. It's fucking sick. Although I don't mind the fact that they have the same vocal style on every other song, I really wish the vocal melody and rhythm was something for the different last song.

Overall this album is incredible. I feel like an idiot listening to the early version of the freebird. This album sounds incredible and it would have been a lot more crazier hearing the full quality on the first listen. Their albums are so full. And this mix is so clear on this album, its incredible

whole middle chunk from burglars, or even litg to OD is sooo sweet for me. kinda feel like NS and StW are like related or something, StW almost feels like part 2 of NS to me

i was mostly paying attention to panda's vocal during bagels at first, but avey's lower vocal melodies are downright strange at some points and i love it. sounds like mpp went to space but is also inside a fishbowl at some points in this song.

The mix on The Burglars is insane. It just gets louder as the song ramps up. Pretty awesome

After about 10 listens, the album continues to be freaking great. I understand some of the gripes from the members here, although I don't myself agree with them. I actually don't have a problem with the album getting polarized reactions from the fans and the media. Seems like the band is content with it and I kinda like it more when they're divisive.

Onto more interesting notes, I cannot wait to see how they jam some of these tracks. The percussion throughout it is so strange sounding too, it's gonna be super intresting to see what Jeremy adds to it in a live setting. I hope they jam the hell out of the middle section of Bagels. Also, I can't wait to hear how they manage to pull off those insane vocals in the Burglars.

This. I've listened to PW about 4 or 5 times since I got it earlier today, and it just gets better with every listen. I really think this might end up being my favorite album of their's. It just combines so many of the elements from their past albums that I love into the best possible combination.

There's no track I don't like even a bit. Lying in the Grass came close, but I've started to really dig it these past few listens.

I learned I liked the lyrics in Golden Gal and the chorus for Vertical more than I originally thought. Summing the Wretch has some of the coolest enunciation and lyrical themes on the album, and Recycling is just...nuts.

(just so we're clear I didn't type all these up I just moved them over to the wiki and tried by best to fill in some spots and fix it up a little)

WOW i read some of thelyrics and a lot of what i read was seriously beautiful / really rang true to me as classic ac lyrics. much much much kudos to those deciphering. also i think that bagels in kiev>on delay to me is definitely the for reverend green>fireworks / guys eyes>taste / ntb>monkey riches / winters love>kids on holiday of this album. curious as to other peoples thoughts on their favorite pairing of songs on this record.

this weird little album is growing on me...

only Golden Gule is a bit too cheesy for me, too much Little fang going on there, wich I kinda like and I have to admit it makes me happy, but it's not that interesting.

but I like this more and more. especially VERTICAL :nateweep:

PW is a beautiful album, brimming with positive vibes and amazing vocals and electronics.

It is pretty full-on but I love it. Perhaps the next album will be a 50-minute reimagining of Bees to compensate.

HOLY SHIT GUYS. I'm freaking out a little sorry. But Natural Selection is one of my favorite songs on the album and I found a little detail that I think is really cool.

Does anyone remember that video Avey posted on his Instagram with the Lablakely Dress vocal effect? Well that part was actually used in Natural Selection at 1:50.

If you can't hear it, just follow Avey's voice.

Anyways I thought that it was really cool when that part kind of clicked for me. Everyone should listen to Natural Selection on repeat at all times.

not entirely feeling this album - there are tons of little tricks and nice moments, but I don't see them pushing themselves very hard. I think the vocals that are used throughout the album kind of remove some of the affect that AC vocals usually have. There are moments I really like, but I get zero chills from listening, and AC is all about the chills. The synthesizers are almost sickeningly sweet.

initially i really didn't like Floridada but it grew on me, so maybe the rest will.

I'm pretty upset lol

Totally agree: ever since first listen this has sort of felt like Honeycomb: The Album, just with all the wacky sound effects and samples peppering the high-energy songs. Honeycomb was by far my fav from the CHz era so I'm really happy

I interviewed Avey in December, and have had the lyrics since then. With all the press lock down, I definitely wasn't comfortable with freebirding lyrics early. I messaged Avey asking if I could post them on here, and he said, "Hey yes totally! I was hoping someone that had them would hehe"

Really though the album clicked for me when I read the lyrics while listening to it.

i think anything they bring into the lkive show might be slower more groove oriented stuff. as much as i can see water curses and stuff like that working with this new material, you def dont want a live show on the same frentic full on pace of the album for 90 straight minutes
