What a fucking smug bald joyless cunty streak of yellow piss.
still seems negative to get that "you suck" out there, cuz online what people see is what they get
doesn't always seem lighthearted with mean words bein tossed around
just my 2 cents
stoked as hell to hear this album though, really feelin the singles
Even though this thread has been mostly about reviews the last couple pages, hopefully nobody guts for me for sharing what I think is the most relatable (for me) review so far: http://www.popmatters.com/review/animal ... ting-with/
I wonder what else Animal Collective have up their sleeve for the next couple months... Wasn't there rumors that they recorded a music video in South America, and the visuals Abby made still haven't been used in anything. And of course the last two songs that they mentioned in an interview.
Holy shit, I wonder if each cover has it's own unique back. It does look really awesome

"Even the highly divisive Centipede Hz had a discernible thematic direction and clear points of inspiration."
one of the big issues ive been having with this. agree with much of that review
Wish the band would log back on here and tell us all to shut the fuck up

What? This is probably one of their tightest and most cohesive albums! It's too much so apparently, people want that "WTF" moment on the album I guess...I really enjoy Painting With though personally. It's quickly becoming one of my top 3 AC albums.
if anyone's curious, the review has 31 sentences, and just 10 of them are addressing the music. that's less than a third. pretty offensive to these guys who obviously put a lot of work into this thing

it's almost like sometimes music isn't just a series of randomly generated sounds that exist in a vacuum.
woot, I didn't feel like rotating the pictures the right way; I got da panda bae cover
Can confirm that the backs are different depending on whose cover you get]
my early favourites are: The Burglars, Golden Gal, Summing the Wretch and On Delay
Feel it's a mix of great songs and some that just kind of go by.. but it'll probably grow on me more.

it's almost like a review of a collection of songs should at least spend the majority of its time talking about the songs
So I'm guessing it didn't come with a lyrics booklet

Yeah it doesn't :/

not if the more important of aspect of the album isn't just the songs but where it places the band in the context of their output and the larger scheme of what's happening in music.
I hope the middle of Bagels turns into a lengthy jam

it is my firm view that the most important aspect of an album is the album itself. you may disagree, but i think the songs matter most
