my votes for album title are good ol'e track titles

Deakin - Good House
Deakin - Country Report

particulary Country Report due to this album's long lineage

he should call it 'Guggenheim Jam'

nah but for real, Good House / Elastik / Island Chase would all be good names

would be a funny title for a first album

or good old Footy lol

Island Chase would actually be a sweet title, but itd have to be all islandy or something

i just spent an hour trying to figure out how to message deakin on instagram to tell him how much i love his music and ask him if he's gonna tour in support of this album and i finally realized i can't message him because you can't have instagram without a smartphone (which i don't have)

:negative:

fuck i hope he tours, i was pretty bummed that i couldn't see him in 2010/11 cause i was under 21 at the time and the local dates were 21+

Josh was kind enough to get back to me regarding purchasing the album for those who did not fund the Kickstarter. Good news is that it seems he'll put up the tunes online for free!

Um...

I think he means "made available for everyone to buy digitally"??? It would seem pretty harsh for him to release music free that people paid a bunch of money for six years ago

I want everyone to hear it but

Oh what the hell people just download shit without paying for it anyway :?

I'm sure there are at least some decent people who'd be willing to pay him money for his work though. Either way I don't think you interpreted that message right unless there's something I'm missing.

I don't know how it'd WORK (logistically...) maybe instead of "faux festival" it could just be like a few concert nights but having ALL the ac+related+solo+side+etc playing would rule

ANIMAL COLLECTIVE (all 4 members)
Panda solo
Avey solo
Deeks solo
(Geo solo?! we wish!)

and by solo they could have guests like deeks could have princess rama dong + dan deacon

SlasherFLICKS!
Ttones
JANE! (his wife!)

Grouper/Growing/Together/Rev.GREEN/oah'sARKY/deeks&geoSEEINdinklesLIVE!

all the Paw Traxxx faves

Ariel Pink (w/JOHNNY MOUSE!) and EXCEPTER and BLACK DICE and TICKLE FEATHERS and 1st NATION and THE PEPPER MINTS and GANGANGANG DANSE! and such

and you know the rest

even deer a dorian gray / mum/kria/stockings? ... Jane His Wife

Jane Austin Texas, MN

Paris, France / London, Ontario

etc

jane the virgin
the virgo
the cancerous woodrat
The Hoodrat

Rusty Santoast!

DIAMONDS / MATTY SAINT JURMAINE!

you me & Dupree!

the Wilson bros (owen + luke!)

too many more to mention you get the idea

I usually try not to think that way and get my hopes up, but he just changed his handle to "deakin_joshmin" when he has been rolling with joshmin for a while now :smoking:

Speak, memory is the title of Nabokov's memoir so it could be a title but could also not... Hope it means something! I guess it's gotta happen soon anyhow!

New update!
wrote:
Dear Friends,
I wanted to check in and give you an update on where things stand. All elements are in production. Based on manufacturing turnaround times we are planning for the mailing to go out in mid-March. As soon as we actually have everything in hand we will give you firm dates.
In the meantime I wanted to let you know that I decided to switch the format of the physical release from CD to cassette. To me, it just doesn’t feel like CDs are exciting physical objects anymore. I’m really psyched on the cassette as an object and I hope you are too. But don’t stress if you don’t have a tape deck. I will be including download links for the tracks on the cassette as well as a some bonus downloads.
I’d also like to clear up a question that I have seen some of you discuss…. The EP will not be sold to anyone other than you in any physical format. You guys waited a very long time for this and I want you to have something unique for your patient support. I will be making the tracks and album available online though through iTunes and some of the streaming services sometime after you all have had time to listen and enjoy the record. I believe you all should have it first. I felt some conflict about this but the truth is that I know the tracks will get online anyway no matter what I do and it feels better to have some amount of quality control in that process, ensuring that it’s the highest quality of audio for all of the other fans out there. I am really proud and psyched about this music and I hope that you guys all can understand that it would feel good to let the wider world hear it.
Pushing myself through this process that I had been avoiding so that I could finish the recordings that you will soon be hearing has been such a profoundly meaningful step in my life. I have been holding back from this for longer than the six years that you have been waiting. Now that it is finished and I am close to delivering it to you guys, I feel an excitement and movement in myself to make more music as soon as possible. I will elaborate on a lot of that in the package you will be receiving. But I probably cannot say enough how grateful I am for the opportunity that this project, in all of its aspects, has provided for me. Your money changed the lives of people in Mali, your support and encouragement has changed mine. More to come.
peace,
josh
