I was afraid they lost their ability to "control" their sound experimentations but now I'm happy, it's like some sounds of CHz were revisited in a more subtle and tempered way, and mixed with PBMTGR production.
It has also a raw energy, now I understand why they talked about dinosaurs and Dada. This kind of prehistoric atmosphere makes me think a lot about Down There. To me, some songs are like a pop and happy version of Down There, with a similar watery and "exotic" production. Especially on Golden Gal, which has some kind of Laughing Hieroglyphic vibes, when Avey Tare sings.
PS : Oh my god, On Delay is soooo goooood

I thought the exact same thing. Down There has that depressing, burning the midnight oil vibe to it and this album feels like it's recorded at the "Oliver Twist" swamp from the music video except midday and the crows aren't trying to mind-fuck you.

Vertical's chorus has been stuck in my head. I love it.
I don't think this album is better than MPP because it didn't really give me chills, though it's very good. Sorry CHz, I think this album is better.

Yes, a swamp or a cavern

And at the end of Recycling, I thought the synth from Spirit They're Gone was back aaaah... it made me feel nostalgic.

We get House of Bairro and Gnip Gnop on Friday right? That's the 7" single?
It still seems like Golden Gal is my least favorite off of the album. Which is weird because I'm seeing A LOT of people list it as their favorite! If I had to choose the singles I probably would have replaced Lying In The Grass with Summing The Wretch.
I am just so in love with Hocus Pocus's chorus. The synths that come in are so crystallized and really attack your ears. The beat is the PERFECT walking pace and the whole thing feels like I'm taking part in a ritual of some sort. It really does feel sort of primitive as they've described, yet all of this album sounds like the future. Like I've said before, the textures, samples, and nuances are so perfectly placed and it all feels intentional. There's definitely a REALLY off-kilter side to this album and things like the vocoded voice in Vertical's opening make you go "hey, this is kind of weird but really interesting!"
This is definitely going to beat CHz for me and top their discrography.

I had a dream last night that I was playing a show in Champaign-Urbana, at the closed down Error Records, and for some reason the gang was there. It was a crowd of about 30 people but I could clearly make out Noah, Dave, Josh and Brian in the front, and about halfway through my set they started to morph into their characters from ODDSAC and they joined me on stage, the music we played together was unlike anything I've ever heard, and now I'm going to try to recreate it

Just jumped on, guess I missed the party last night. Was too busy obsessing over how beautiful TLOP is. Definitely holding out from listening to the freebird though, I'm seeing the philly show, first of the tour. Want to lose my painting with virginity to a live show.
Spoiler: show

1-3 are fantastic and 8, 9, 11 and 12 are fucking amazing. The first half of 10 is bloody awful, the worst Panda Bear song I've ever heard. 4-7 have really good parts, still getting a handle on them.
I like where this fits in their discography, something I haven't quite heard from them before. Dave especially sounds on real form, Noah a tad repetitive in his less inspired moments.
I am really tired though so I kind of expected to enjoy this less than I do given my mood.
That said, I have no patience for the Kanye chat.

TLOP sounds like a collection of songs you'd skip on a much better album. Sounds like he wrote and recorded the entire thing last weekend, and he gets Bodied by his guests on every track. Thugger and Kdot were the highlights

yeah i think it says that in the email because it's just the name of the full product, but i don't think the 7" single is actually coming right now
the copy the guy on reddit had appears to be the deluxe (it has the stickers and slipmat) but no sign of the 7"

That's weird, I don't think that the pre-order site originally stated that the 7" ships separately later.
Well, I'm still excited!

Right, and I was saying that I don't remember seeing that when the pre-orders first went up. Maybe I just misread
Do we know if we're actually getting songs 15 and 16 yet?

Good question. I haven't seen confirmation of that, but I haven't read/listened to all the interviews.
