I guess so. But the sad thing is even if I get it early I won't be able to listen because I don't have a record player here

If the next single doesn't also come on the app today and proper release Monday, what was the point of the app? It did seem pretty shallow as it was but it's of virtually no value two weeks on. I don't actually care just making conversation.

haha, that would be amazing
so after such a long announcement, i am very surprised at the completely standard release for this. the app was pretty meh and just really went nowhere. the fact that it was just reviews by journalists is really weak. who cares what music reviewers have to say these days? they all have agendas according to who they are owned by, hence kayne just dominating pitchfork. which is laughable.
who cares at this point, the album is 7 days away at a max. i can not wait at this point, have not heard 1 note of this so i will be able to take it all in at once instead of starting on track 2. this is gonna be good.
the only thing i am scard of is the boys latin effect (which i absolutely love) becoming very stale very quickly if it is deployed on over half the album. but i couldnt be more excited for some new AC.
giddyup!

pretty sure chz would be better received here if it would have been universally praised.
you guys seem to be seriously irritated if any less than enthusiastic reviews appear, yet say that reviews dont matter to you. not mean to bring negative vibes, but it just seems to be so, hope im wrong.
it is already pretty obvious that this release will go for about 70-75 on metacritic and might not necessarily hit year end lists...again, hope im wrong because i myself am seriously psyched about this judging by the bathroom flacs and amazon samples.
...seriously did not mean to bring bad vibes, but am seriously interested in HOW invested you guys really are about the hype and reviews and what not, because it certainly seems that most dudes over here are more interested in scores and things than they would like to admit. it pretty obviously will be praised in here after it comes out for like half a year...but in the long run, when the "6.8/10" verdict has been made and the freshness wears off...are you still absolutely sure that the "6.8" wont matter to you IN THE LONG run. probably just being ridiculous.

i think people want to see a band they really like get good reviews and success. its nice to read good reviews about an album u are looking forward to. glad ur above caring about that stuff and that ur a true independent thinker tho.

Another unfortunate thing is that these music critics have a huge impact on the music scene at large by repping certain bands among others, and the more well-reviewed bands are more likely to get imitated or influence other new music. Back when MPP was released a lot of great music came from people who were inspired by it, so it would be really cool to see AC get reviewed well again just so the musical trends shift back in their direction.

Well
Have gotten a load of PMs so I just thought I'd post in here with an update. Manchester trip is going really well, all the pubs have been class. Tame Impala gig was great. Delighted PW hasn't freebirded yet. Home tomorrow anyways.
Is Golden Gals confirmed as the next single?

Who wants to bet that they are gonna whip out alvin row unexpectedly.
Imagine how nuts everyone would go.
Either way I'm glad they are shelving My Girls. The other ones I would've been fine hearing again but I'm pumped that they aren't just bringing it back because people will expect it.
Also I just realized in 1 week I am going to be listening to this album holy shitttt

I'm really gonna abstain from looking at setlists, and have the whole show be a surprise. Imagine how cool that's going to be, not knowing what the fuck they'll play next.
Also, dumping fireworks, bro sport and my girls is totally the right thing to do. Their live shows were really feeling stale by the end of the chz tour, you could tell they were getting fed up.

Thanks vic.
They're shelving My Girls? That's cool. Again, the crowd the one time I saw them in Dublin was chronic. Everyone got on the floor for My Girls except my friend and I at the front. And Pan was the guy organising it all so shit

I just looked back at my original order confirmation email, it says it will be shipped from "the Animal Collective USA warehouse", so maybe they still could arrive early? I'm not counting on it or anything, but you never know.

Ha holy shit, that guy was like chatting with Avey. Just some guy on Reddit?
I highly doubt they'll bring back any Spirit stiff, but hey fuck it they could. I proffered Gat You'll Fly a while ago, that one would be insane. Any ODDSAC stuff would be a dream too but feels really pipe dreamy: tantrum barb, mr fingers, urban creme, what happened?

I preordered CHz and it absolutely came a day before its official release...maybe even two. I was living in Bmore at the time

Yeah, US orders ship from within the country. I forget which state exactly but hopefully those copies begin shipping and potentially arrive a little before the release date! I guess we're a little behind the rest of the world on time so a Friday dispatch notice isn't entirely out of the question
