The new album Pool by Porches is a really solid synthpop release that just came out, if you like the detoned sort of vibe from some of Panda Bear's Tomboy pieces you'd probably like it, listen to the songs "Be Apart" and "Shaver" if you want to before you commit to an entire album to get a vibe for it.

I also recently discovered the album Zonoscope by Cut Copy, their song "Blink and You'll Miss the Revolution" is really great. I also recently got into the band Broadcast, their album "Tender Buttons" is really fantastic, they have a very unique sound.

Thanks, listening to Porches now! It's pretty catchy.

Also if any of you haven't heard it yet, listen to the album No Now by Clarence Clarity. It's pretty much an RnB album through the lens of a massive dose of LSD. Definitely has an anco-esque quality/sensibility to it.

Anybody have any musical recommendations to tide over the wait?

Always looking for new stuff

Haven't listened to The Books in a little while until recently, but they have been helping tide me over. Smells like content

I looovvveeeee the Books!.

I just wanted to say thank you... I have been pretty frustrated the past hour or so looking for music that kinda hits my current mood's sweet spot and Clarence Clarity is amazing. Never heard them before, they are so good. P.S. The Books - too great!

love minnie RIPerton. 'Les Fleur' is one of my all-time favorite tracks, ever. but i gotta say, i'd never call it 'motown' -- more like orchestral r&b psych. the album is definitely worth checking as well.

i also second the Jai Paul recco (JP, where are you?? the world needs more)

and eBadu's new mixtape is so full of atmosphere, real sustenance to hold us over IMO, along with the whole New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) alb

HIs "debut album" was released online via a fake bandcamp account, he took it down and there was this whole thing and controversy about it. but people had bought it and they began to pass it around the internet and people were saying how great it was and started to make petitions for an official release and stuff but the hype eventually faded out and Jai has been silent ever since. You can still find it if you search for it online, this is the cover. It's absolutely incredible, love the second track "St8 Outta Mumbai"

Thanks so much for letting me know! It's really good. I've always loved those two singles. Is there any sort of tracklist?

This is what I was able to piece together from browsing /mu/ around release time... missing a lot of stuff though:

I also found this a while back, it's a collection called "Everlasting", it has a lot of the same tracks just with different mixes. Also the tracks "Feist Beats" and "Flip Out" which are absent from the self-titled. "Feist Beats" is a sort of remix of Feist's "Limit To Your Love"

I've been into the Temptations lately, they're really fun to collect on vinyl I've got "With a lot o' soul" "In a Mellow Mood" and "Cloud Nine", looking to get "The Temptations Sing Smokey".

This is my jam right here -

David Ruffin is one of my favorite singers of all time.

I decided to finally liste to Hollinndagain. The only thing I haven't heard by AnCo, and wow, I can't believe how long I've completely disregarded and ignored this album, there's some really good shit here. Such spooky and mysterious sounds, and those Indian chants and drumming.. Oh man.

By all accounts, the train has ground to a halt and is rusting in a decrepit siding. You can go down and see it any time you like, but don't expect it to start motoring again.

BTSTU is amazing

He was also featured on Higher Res, a bonus track on the last Big Boi album (Viscous Lies and Dangerous Rumors). I'd say it's worth checking out if you enjoy Jai Paul's album

Please, Jai...

I wonder if that station that played the record streams their signal online. If we had known maybe we could've heard it?

The one that played the album at the airport? I could've sworn that I tried checking out their webstream that day and it definitely wasn't Painting With being played.

Another track supposedly coming before the album, it can't be any later than Tuesday, surely? Maybe via the app? With copies being sent out to stores this week, we'll have the album by the weekend, surely.
