wow you guys making the kiddie pool connection are functioning on a higher plane of existence than me right now.
dud i also concur that listening to 30 sec amazon samples did not negatively impact my first listen of LITG at all. if anything i feel like it "prepared" me a lil bit lol

It's possible that the kiddie pool isn't on either song we've heard so far though, they also could've processed it so it doesn't sound like a kiddie pool anymore
I'm really excited to hear all the modular synth noises on this album, all the extra little ornamentation in Flordad and litg sounds so sweet. This is going to be a great headphones album

OMG I have to see this show! I'm a stay at home dad at the moment (very long story) so I'm hoping someone is very kind to me for my birthday this month. This album and lineup is going to be special. Loved Jeremy's drumming with Slasher Flicks. So loud and energetic! It was hard to watch anything else during their set. What a beast!

Well when I'm referring to the beginning of LITG having the kiddie pool it's clearly heavily processed. It's just when I listen on headphones, it sounds like an empty sort of "thwap" sound. You can hear like the echo of it is processed. Idk haha

Hey bansheebeat!! What would you say the catchiest song on this album is? Do any of them have the catchy sung tongsy feel we got off floridada with the playful vocals??

as someone who still listens to the samples with absolutely no discretion almost every day, i can also say that they have not negatively affected my experience of lying in the grass in any way, nor do i feel like it will negatively affect my experience of the album as a whole. there's been a certain difference in experience between listening to bootlegs ahead of time (which i have also done with absolutely no discretion) and listening to the amazon previews of painting with. since they're just a shortened version of the actual finished product and not a totally different version of the song, i don't feel let down or anything when hearing the full version of the song, because instead of becoming attached to my vision of what the song should be based on a bootleg that will undoubtedly be reworked, i'm just becoming attached to small parts of the actual songs themselves, only becoming more excited to see where they'll go as the days go on. listening to bootlegs and listening to previews have created similar feelings of excitement in me, but with the previews there hasn't been the same bittersweet feeling of the songs being different in ways i'd hoped would stay the same that i feel when i hear a studio version of a bootleg i've been listening to for months. there's not the same feeling of the rug being pulled from under u in a way that can sometimes be unpleasant when you hear the finished version of a song after you've become attached to a bootleg. anyone feel?

A few of the interviews, plus the pictures of them at Sun City I think it was. Also Michael Remember is nothing but modular synths.

Fucking hell. Fifth member approaching, and all that! Very very surprised by this, to be honest. I understand that the vocals on the new record are pretty complex and therefore didn't expect Noah to be playing the drums but I'm just surprised they'd ever play with anyone else. Jeremy was brilliant with the live Slasher stuff I bothered to listen to, though, so I think it's exciting, but yeah, wow.

dang cool. I've just recently been getting into modulars and the kinds of sounds/work flows they encourage. super excited to see this.

You can hear quite a lot of modular stuff on Floridada. Especially in the beginning. Some of the rhythms are hard to tell if they're analog or synethized

while I'm also super excited for this tour and I love Jeremy Hyman's drumming, I do share Stan's feelings that it's a little surprising that they'd have someone else play live with them. I guess they've collaborated with outside musicians on record before (and obviously they did again on PW) but I think one thing that makes AC's live show so unique is that the dudes have played together for so long that at this point so they can really stretch out in the live setting and do some crazy jams and transitions. Though I have no doubt that the band is busy rehearsing their asses off to make sure the synergy is 100% there
Do you guys think that the stage setup will reflect Jeremy's non-band member status? that is, do you think they'll kinda relegate him to the back and try and present the 3 dudes as the 'primary' band members with Jeremy as accompaniment? I guess we really have no way of knowing but I'm just curious what the dynamic is gonna be like

I wish they play YOUR CARD on tour, I mean that would be so fing awesome. That song screams Animal Collective and they could introduce both avey and panda singing together... maybe with double drums and then followed by Preakness with avey singing lead vocals... yeah make it so.
hey we can dream

Recycling is my fave track and also the most catchy in my opinion but I don't think others will agree. My favorite song off their albums is always a surprise to people. You will not be disappointed about the vocal arrangements on all of the songs. Floridada and lying in the grass are not the biggest standouts whatsoever

OKAY. Now, I'm 100% keeping my fingers crossed that we hear a Slasher Flicks song with the whole band. Its not TOTALLY out of the realm of possible, right?
Peebs used to play his version of Guy's Eyes, right? A thousand years ago they used to play Comfy in Nautica, and some of the Young Prayers. Slasher Flixxx played some Down There stuff. WHY NOT.

Its confirmed insofar that a dude who for sure did see Dan Deacon at the SF show Jer Hy drummed at & spoke to Jer Hy who said, "yes, I'll be touring with the big homies."

When the Amazon Samples were covered back up, weren't the two other songs (besides Floridada) with inactive play functions Lying In The Grass and On Delay? I'd love to hear Vertical as the next single but my money is on on delay

I am apparently an emotional terrorist and TOTALLY conflating my own mental desires with reality, but in my memory, there are totally setlists in the All Known Recordings thread that have AC playing YP tracks. Looks like I'm wrong though.

rejoicing now as the approaching has ARRIVED... The Fifth Bulges on the horizon!!... Love...
Luck it's not real. Oh, it's real. No, it's not real
Maybe it's only real when lightning landed
and hit you right where you were standing,
Or when your imagination shows you what only time is supposed to tell you.
And then I imagine time: he's got real big hands and bigger plans...
From a long time ago.""
