ok this might be a long shot but back in the day, i think when they were touring MPP there was a fan shot video of Avey having to stop a show because the bass was too loud and he said it was destroying him..
does anyone know of this video and can you link me pretty please?

This does exist and I think it was somewhere in NYC? Been looking for the video too but can't find it. At the time some folks got really upset with the band for acting "like divas" but iirc the subs in this venue were located under the stage and that can really fuck with a performance

not sure about the pic, but it was definitely Webster Hall & the previous act or house DJ was responsible for the bass increase...

When I saw them in Toronto in 09 the bass was so loud in Summertime Clothes that I thought my glasses were going to crack.

I can completely understand if those 808's and moog bass patterns were vibrating them to the point their vision is vibrating. That shit is probably not good for you for one and two it literally fucks with your train of thought.

Ya I remember thinking when I saw them in 2008 that Panda's bass parts were quieter during essplode. mightve been cause of this.

Is this the event where the bass is so loud it disassembles Avey and then reassembles him on stage as Dr Manhattan?

Funny thing is this isn't even what Avey would consider their worst show.
"Worst was in belgium at a festival on the Feels tour. I got really drunk before we played and knocked down all my amps three songs in cause the on stage sound was terrible and i couldn't hear what was going on. I threw my PRS into the air and it cracked in half and i said goodnight. The sound guys were like "whos this guy, he's worse then axel rose". I kinda vowed never to do that kinda thing again.
one of the best things i did though was make up for that by playing a bunch of acoustic songs in the parking lot for some people after the show with josh."

Yeah, the silver lining with that one was huge cos it gave us the Rock Herk boot. A classic

I believe that was at Rock Herk. The same night they had to cornpill due to Josh finding out his dad died.
I believe this is the parking lot performance.

sometimes I really do feel for the ac guys
they were going through some really rough shit in their mid 20s or so
all while their band was exploding bigger and bigger each year / album
that's a lot to take (either thing) during such confusing / formative years
but together?
it's a wonder they didn't all go insane (or get mightily hooked on the cane!)

bless to deaks for his wise wise words he gave to me in a dark dark time in early 2006ish

I don't know if I ever got to properly talk to him or thank him
including talking to him at the 2010 solo show (prince rama came on and we both rightfully wanted to see / hear that shit!]
one day him and I will hopefully speak again
maybe not today
maybe not tomorrow
maybe not even in the next 10 years
but SOME DAY
(later that day...)
