I'm excited wondering how I'm going to be listening to this the first time. Will it freebird while I'm at home and I get to listen to it real loud on my speakers? Will it freebird/stream while I'm at work and I have to go hide in a corner for an hour while I jam out on my headphones? Maybe we'll end up having to wait for release day anyways?

I'm considering that if there is a freebird and it's shitty quality, I may just wait it out (naw, who am I kidding?)

I'm thinking on listening to it the same way I listened to Radiohead's The King Of Limbs and CHz when they came out. I will wait until everyone at my house is sleeping, i'll put on my good headphones and i'll listen to it in complete darkness, the lack of vision helps me to focus on the sound textures.

I feel the same way. That's why I don't really care if a freebird comes out that's of low sounding quality because I know I'll be able to hear it in higher quality come February 19th

Also I definitely get the appeal of AC's music on drugs, but I think it can be harmful to have a mindset of thinking "this is cool, but I wish I could hear this on acid," mostly because that can belittle the music and the life experience of listening to the music in an unaltered state. But to each, their own. It's not about how you listen, it's about the enjoyment of listening

'On Delay' is a classic Avey opener like 'Did You See the Words' or 'A Sender'. It just doesn't open.
'Recycling' somehow reminds me of 'I'm Your Man' closure, 'Tower of Song'.
'Natural Selection' is super cyber.
'Spilling Guts' is one of the songs reminding me of the early Beatles, vocally (lasting notes).
'Summing the Wretch' is english to me. I kind of see Big Ben when I hear it. Maybe cause it's Boom's favourite. Someone mentioned educational videos (but relating to some other song) - this. Other songs have this too.
Actually now I see that the landscape of the record is very Muzzy-esque (?).

Crazy excited, I have really high expectations for this puppy! I always loved the long-drawn out ambient chunks on earlier albums, but they're obviously awesome when jamming out really fast on songs "turn into something" or whatever.
