yeah. even though this album is all short, upbeat songs without any extended intros, outros, or ambient passages, I highly doubt that they would ditch the live transitions. They've been playing seamless live sets for a long time, and I think people have come to expect that style of performance when they go to an AC show. Not to mention that they'll most likely be playing old songs as well and many of those feature intros or ambient sections. Imagine if they tried playing Daily Routine without including the 2nd half, or Banshee Beat without the intro

That being said, I could be totally wrong on this. They could rework old songs to be shorter, or they could add beats to the ambient passages. or they could do something completely different. I guess we won't know until the tour starts, but that's not too far away now

Just google "the twittersphere interview prep" and apply on IRC. The interview isn't too bad, but it takes a long time (2+ hours for me, but I had some technical difficulties). It's worth it.

Edit: Well not "twittersphere" but you know.

I kinda hope they will extend/make awesome transitions for Painting With Live. I am totally excited for the record to shed its ambient sections for a change, but I hope they make the live versions bleed and morph into old songs similar to how they reworked Fireworks -> Essplode.

I haven't listened to any samples or floridada in about a week. I think I'm gonna try and keep it like that till the release.

I'm excited to hear this stuff recorded and then see it live, some of my favorite live songs have been like that (amanita, brother sport, banshee beat..)

I was at the front but it was very tightly packed. They played one song, I can't remember which, and then Panda strummed a few chords on an acoustic guitar before tossing it into this forest near them. That's all I remember from the concert, and later in the dream I thought to myself "I was so hyped to see them, but all I can remember is Panda throwing his guitar", and was disappointed in myself.

Maybe someone skilled in psychoanalysis or something can tell me what this reveals about my relationship with animal collective

They were outside of the hall and standing "with" nature, outside of the man made structure which make you feel claustrophobic with all the other fans or whomever, you had a concert to yourself, so they were speaking to you. The played a song but you don't remember, meaning, it's not the songs that are the important part of their unconscious message to you from your soul, disguised as avey and panda.

But what you do remember is panda throwing the guitar, which means to me, that they are saying this too is a man made device, and in your dreams we don't even need it to communicate. But all you can do is be disappointed. But the subtle message may be, there is no songs necessary anymore, we've given you the best of us already.

I too have recently dreamt about the album freebirding. Part of me feels a sort of moral dilemma when thinking about it though. I of course will be buying the album and supporting the boys as always, so there's a side of me that won't feel bad downloading, but for the first time in my life for some odd reason I feel as if I should hold off...

Though that likely won't happen.
