so excited. what do you all think the odds of this NOT freebirding by xmas ??
Not sure why there's an expectation that it'll freebird soon. Much more likely that it comes out ~2-3 weeks before the release date. At the very least, I think expecting it to freebird before christmas is putting the house at a big advantage

just wishful thinking I guess.
I think it's the thing most of us are hoping for xmas most
that and the warm fuzzy nostalgia of the mpp xmas of years past !

^happens to me at least 5 times a day. just kinda seems like it would have by now..
just listened to samples for first time in over a week or so..... ugh these songs are amazing. i want this so bad. vertical, hocus pocus and burglars make my ears water.
"cant be a crime to (to) meddle (meddle), cant be wrong to (to) push (push) the peddle"
they are like for sure rapping on this. esp panda but avey on vertical too. its like theyre finally exploring the sound of original live taste more in depth. rlly feel like this whole album is gonna be like daily routine, wwiws and taste esque in a way. and then On Delay sounds like a clubby banshee beat vibe. and bagels is still sounding like the most un-ac they've sounded since like monkey richs maybe idk

ya like that might be a stretch but not rlly cuz he's def doing the more kinda whispery vocals of feels and parts of mpp... rlly kinda sounds like postal service almost which is weird but in the least bad way cuz postal service is a horrible vibe imo

Where are you guys listening to the samples? Didn't Amazon remove them like a day or two after they were posted?

^obvs hard to put yourself in these shoes, but how well do you think the samples would work as a teaser before the album? I'm assuming that there are plenty of juicy bits hiding in these songs that the samples don't even scratch the surface of.

my brain always fills in the next note as an E.. just a note lower than the last note of the phrase before it..
pretty sure thats whats its gonna be

Does anyone have a link to the samples that don't require download? I feel like if I downloaded it I would listen way way way too much

That's what I have been thinking too but the next word is gonna be "gal" i think and i can't picture that word as an E note. Just a thought, that i've been thinking...
nevermind just did it myself: http://strawpoll.me/6343517

I voted D# because fuck it they could pull off a mid-chorus key change and I would love it
(I haven't listened to the sample)

do ya think that's john cale on the keys in Bagels in Kiev maybe??
edit: oh whoa i didn't realize it was panda singing the higher register on that... funky enunciation for him !
have really grown on that summing the wretch one too what a weird little tune.. "getting screwed up, not much to do when no one's, watching no one's looking, can you...."

are you asking if you should listen to the samples? if so, yes I think the samples are a perfectly fine taste to have before the album drops, these songs are packed to the fucking gills w/ sound

I listened to about 3 seconds of Hocus Pocus (assuming that was the second sample) and I turned it off. Quality aside, I just want my first time with these songs to be the best possible scenario. Can't spoil the fun of the first listen!

i've listened to them 25 times since they dropped.
its holding me over. ain't gonna pretend theres a strategy about it or nothin. digging the medieval n64 wizard pop vibes (burglars I'm lookin at u)
id say its comparable to listening to shitty clips from concerts on utube pre-other releases

I listened to one of those bathroom flacs once and liked what i heard but have avoided everything since. the idea of listening to partial clips of songs more than once seems weird to me. i wouldn't compare it to a concert youtube clip since a concert is different that a super low-fi snippet of the album cuts. to each their own...
i got some degree of 'demoitis' with sj, mpp, tomboy, chz, etsh, pbvsg, and the eps/singles between by listening to boots on repeat, as well as freebirds, streams, etc. Aside from Floridada, I want to go into painting with as fresh as possible. It's been this long, so another ~8 wks really isn't much

Also, I think I like hearing everyone's batshit descriptions moreso than if I just listened to the samples.

I've only listened to Floridada. It's getting a lot of plays on the local hipster radio station here in Minnesota. Crazy to be hearing AC played on a popular radio station on the daily.

Im strictly listening to only live recordings until that album drops. Samples were kool, FloriDada gets mixed in.. but right now, I'm totally into that 2007 live era ...idk why haha and no reason I suppose..
