Definitely not convinced that they will drop the news about the album tomorrow...I'd love a new song at least ! It's been soooo long since an official AC song has dropped! And although the little jam session they released today was kool and all, it still was just a pure tease! By the sound, its definitely convincing that this album is going to be fcking awesome! I hope it's a long album too ..at least 11,12 songs would be sweet! There's just so much to ponder about!
We just might get a 2015 release after all! I hope.

I really want a new AC song with Avey singing so bad!! Does anyone know if Avey has ever sung a song that another member wrote or even cowrote ? Lyric wise?

He's sung on songs Pandas taken the lead on, but I don't think he's sung or did anything written for him

how about the other way? What Would I Want Sky is an example of that right? I assume the fact that the bits Panda sang at the same time as Avey were originally sang by Avey when they played it live means he wrote them...?
well, that sentence sucks. sorry everyone.

I would assume he did since he performed it solo but Dave obviously wrote the lyrics to his part. Same with loch raven.

i wish panda had been playing more solo shows, loch raven would have been really interesting from just him

Noah wrote mercury man and had Dave sing it instead of himself. I don't remember why? He might have said that he felt dave's voice fit the song better.

did you actually read that? i was pretty sure that was definitely dave's song, unless they said something?

It sounds so so much like a Dave song, the vocal melody is very Down There/Slashery winding type thing and the lyric is relatively impressionistic. If that's Panda I will cook a cat.

I'm pretty sure I remember an interview where Dave talked about the inspiration for the lyrics stemming from a frustrating phone conversation with a car salesman, so maybe you're thinking of a different song?

Man a lot of this unreleased stuff from Noah is fucking phenomenal. Mainly track 2, the middle track with all the arps and then the belly christmassy sounding track at the end.

"I will cook a cat" Lmao!!!
Ya, I doubt PB wrote Mercury Man. That is Avey's style of writing without a doubt! I'd be cooking a cat too if we were wrong. Haha

I just found the actual article... http://www.aux.tv/2012/09/track-by-trac ... tipede-hz/
9. “Mercury Man”
Noah, for a lot of the lyrics on the record, he wanted to spend more time looking outward than looking inward. This one’s kind of about the frustration of trying to communicate with people. Well, for him it was about trying to deal with a car salesman, when he bought a bad car and had to deal with all this nightmare stuff. Just the frustration of complication between humans that should be like, “I’m a person, you’re a person, can’t we talk like human beings?”

hmm i'm more inclined to believe that the reporter accidentally confused Noah w/ Dave there, the lyrics seem so distinctly like Avey's. Also I remember reading in interviews that Noah said he only contributed two songs to the album (NTB which was a tomboy leftover, and rosie oh obvi) so that kind of conflicts with that
or maybe i'm just too biased cause i'm used to thinking of it as an avey track and can't wrap my head around panda contributing those lyrcs lol

I'm not saying I know for sure. I thought it was an avey song until I read that interview with Josh a few years ago. I think it sounds like Dave's lyrics but at the same time, I almost feel like Noah wrote it for Dave to sing. Can you chime in if you know, Pete?

Yah not a reliable interview at all. It's long been known this is the inspiration behind Mercury Man

Do you guys think the music on the my animal home home page is a sample of whats to come on the new album? after hearing michael remember I think it is a possibility

I mean it kind of sounds like the scuba diving shit they did also, but i doubt i think they will have singy songs like always shit you can bob your head too. Everything post sung tongs has had things you can (dance?) too. It'll have strange sounds don't get me wrong, but enough structure to move to.
