Jabberwocky is a fairly short song. I could maybe see G-Yeah being incorporated but, yeah, I highly doubt it. And I'm happy either way. Really excited to hear No Mans Land cos Papadum is the only song I haven't really 'gotten' from this era. And I love the name. Gonna listen to the ATP version now a couple times.

I said a million years ago that G-Yeah is the one getting cut. It's a sweet song but it's just a simple melody over a drum break. Jabba does that but much better. The ATP recording has definitely quenched my G-Yeah (Guinness) thirst.

hah really? to me it's one of the more active ones, all those little sounds, it's got a few different weird sections as far as i can see... feels like a brother to TSoP.
i think that about papadum actually. rad song but that original melody feels so sparse and alone.... kinda reminds me of the verse to "Im not like everybody else" by the kinks. totally could see it as a "no man's land" in that sense

Gyeah featured in Mix Ticks, therefore it exists in some form, probably unmastered at that point. Pete has confirmed that one song didn't make it. It must be this song, unless Popadum has been renamed 'Crosswords (EP mix)'. Joke.

He also used the word 'suite' in some context when talking about mixing the EP tracks but this more likely means 'sweet' in Petek Parlance, so I'm not confident that Gyeah forms a two-parter with Jabba, as per the initial boots. The fact that Noah dropped it and played Jabba by itself in some later shows also supports the idea that it's a separate song, and perhaps that he lost interest in it, too. It never reappeared, as far as I know.

Gyeah, aka OG Faces, you were never even given a decent name, either by your creator nor the fans, and now you're dead. This is my conclusion. Can anyone offer hope of its revival? Anything I've missed?

As an aside, I didn't think Cosplay would be anything more than that initial demo, because it seems so minimal and unrelated to the overall collection of songs but I like this aspect of the Greaper era, there's less thematic and stylistic rigidity/consistency, compared to Tomboy, which is pretty austere in some ways. I always assumed this would be the one to go, given we got that demo. I'm happy it's survived, I love it.

the only saving grace I can think of is that back when he started mixing this ep xpetek mentioned a few times how interesting it was that we thought gyeah-jab was one song. so that's my shred of hope. plus jabberwocky's a pretty short track on its own

I'm guessing theyre combined. That conflicts with one "lying on the studio floor" but maybe things changed or he's being coy and hinting that they're one song: Jabberwocky.

But if GYeah is cut completely I'd be surprised Popadum won out over it. The melody is way better in the former... Imo

i always thought of the vocal melodies of gyeah and popadum as kind of similiar, or at least the way he sings them somehow strokes the same strings for me. i could also see gyeah as popadums ending, that would be sweet.

i like both songs and either one would be cool on the EP (and i'm sure they'll both be released somehow eventually).

i'd just love to see all of your faces when it turns out that no mans land is just a short interlude like davy jones or shadow of the c.

What i can say is of the 19 tracks we started out on.....
.....only one is lying groggy on the stewdio floor ....
Wether it'll pick itself up ......we'll have to weight & see.....

Otherwise ....pretty happy we found the Goldilocks zone & had a lotta fun &
dripped a lotta sweat in the pro cess to roll this out ....

he basically confirms gyeah is cut at a certain point, but also says "Wether it'll pick itself up ......we'll have to weight & see....." then much later he drops that hint about polishing the last jem and it's "the craziest of them all"

Cheers, Ethmin, I did see it, yeah, but wasn't sure how to interpret the Gyeah stuff, or the last gem stuff. I'd assumed that was referring to Popadum, because it's the craziest in my opinion. I think it's ambiguous.

wouldn't be surprised if it was left out though. Also wouldn't be too surprised if no mans land was just an interlude. however it does seem strange to put an interlude on such a short EP, so maybe its less likely.
