I'm craving hearing this album again. Going to have to burn a cd of it since I only have it on vinyl.

You saying that you are craving to hear it is making me craving to hear it again. It just never gets old for me.

Second half really kills it. The first half I'm like ehhh, some parts a little cringey but gotta love AC.
I just love how much Geologist is in this. I'm assuming it's mostly him with the production and the radio tid bits. Super unique album and rich in texture.

Hmm, I always felt the first half was the strongest. It just flows so smoothly. But most of the iconic songs are definitely on the second half. Like Mercury Man, I've always felt, represents the pinnacle of the CHz sound. Just so busy and overwhelming.. But cool.
Edit: doesn't mean mercury man is the best though

Just difference of opinion I guess.
Like, Moonjock and Today's Supernatural I'm like .....Wut.... Idk that's just how I feel.
But the aesthetic throughout I love.

If i had to seperate the album into sections (through the transitions) i'd rank it like this.
#1(MJ+TS+Rosie Oh)
#4 (Applesauce+WE+ FT)
# 3 (NTB+Monkey)
# 2(MM+Pulleys+Amanita)
Keep in mind this is not saying much since I love this album so much the difference between how I love Moonjock and Father Time isn't much.

I love this. Also I can see where you're coming from with the different parts.
Just wanted to say I used to hate Moonjock for like the first year I listened to the album, then I stopped skipping it and gave it a chance. Now it's one of my favorite.
Why can't I quit you Chertz? T_T just kidding I would never leave you Chertz. You or your sister PBVSGR.
Edit: although I will say I never 100% got into Amanita or Pulleys, mostly probably because I almost always listen to the album beginning because of the phenomenal intro songs and I'm zoned out by that point. Well, here's another reason to listen to CHz for the 500th hour

Not sure if I personally could say this but it's not far off imo.

Me too, I got into AC in the MPP era and always thought that was their best. Now I've been listening to CHz frequently for almost 3 years and been trying to get back into MPP but it's tough for some reason.

lol, Stans! I am in no way saying it's bad because I love MPP. It's just not my personal fav. Fave albums would be Strawberry Jam and Spirit They've Gone Spirit They've Vanished. Roark, same here. I got into Animal Collective in 2009. I mostly jammed Strawberry Jam and went from there. IPF, it's all good! The song Brothersport is my shit though!

I got into AC Fall 2010 so I was well after the p4k hype train that was MPP and I was birthed into AC with Oddsac/Down There/Tomboy and I listened to the live CHZ stuff of 2011. This meant CHZ was my first album release and I loved it since day one. However, MPP still is amazing to me and it's hard to say which one is better.

I've been a fan since the day Daft punk released that panda bear video, meaning pbvsgr and money been to butt town are the only releases I've experienced. CHz was the first album I listened to of theirs, and I loved it. It pales in comparison to their other stuff now, but it will always be my first
I've had a fantastic time over the past (wow it's already been) 2 years devouring the delicious anco back catalogue

I got into Animal Collective only after Panda Bear appeared on RAM, though I had heard songs like Fireworks, My Girls and Bluish before.

I got into them when Strawberry jam was making its entrance into the world. I remember early on after hearing sung tongs and feels watching them play #1 on letterman and it was so fucking weird and crazy... Can't say I've enjoyed their evolution since fall be kind but their aesthetic is always super fun.

New Town Burnout is beautifully put together, so much so that I was once able to literally put the song into my grinder, then into a blunt and physically smoke it. It transcended mere aural limitations and literally entered my bronchioles. And the best part was I even got fairly light-headed off it, whereas you only get a minimal buzz off other CHZ songs

It really happened though. I also once took a tab of Peacebone; shit was tight. And in the pub down the road from me they have Slippi, Search for Delicious, and Tantrum Barb on tap.
