Let's be real though the best remix to come out of this album is Jib Kidder's remix of Mr Noah

lol

My initial instinct was to laugh but by the end I thought it sounded delightfully psychedelic really. Excited to go check out some of his original stuff :smoking:

Keen for all the live shows coming up, I'm wondering about what small evolutions may have crept into the set post release....... How does everyone feel about boots now the albums out?

Can't get to any shows so love to hear the boots..........

Stott remix also slays, could do with some more panda tho :)

Thanks guise. Live Acid Wash sounds sweet :smoking:

This little exchange is promising:
"Is there another [Animal Collective] record in the cards?"
"Yeah, I've spent the past 5 weeks or so furiously trying to crank out stuff, and I'm sure Dave is doing the same....no concrete plans to go into the studio, no dates, but I think it's safe to say sometime this year we'll record"

I still doubt they'll record before the end of the year, but still so exciting!!

love this new BBC recording, sounds so sweet. The way Noah really messes with the vocals at the end sounds like he's having a lot of fun with the tracks - this new tour should have some awesome performances.

Noah talks about the hiphop feel of PBVSGR, i think its more about how he has constructed the album with a simple loop locking in the track, then with varied amounts of atmosphere and vox working with it.

Def like a future version of this classic sound:

I think roopn is referring to how certain songs the drums drop out at certain points in live versions, but on the studio the drums are playing through the whole song.

He also does it on Come to Your Senses, Ms Pacman/Faces in the Crowd, and Jabberwocky (but PeteK says the studio version will leave the "drop" intact). Maybe others too...I can't remember

No I'm talking about breaks, not drops. Every four bars in crosswords the drums do a little different phrase, which is a break. Noah says the album uses lots of breaks but that's the only one I hear.

Ennives I see what you mean about the hip hop feel

Oh whoops. I guess I just assumed you were talking about drops because live Crosswords starts without drums

Although when PB talks about the "drum breaks" on this album he's not talking about the phrases you mentioned, he's referring to a part in the song where everything drops out except for the drums. What you mentioned I've typically heard described as a fill, not a break. But then again 'break' could have multiple meanings, or maybe even different meanings regionally

Perhaps more songs started with traditional Hip Hop drum breaks, or that he built his "beats" in a way similar to how one produces '90s Hip Hop jams
