If you play Davy Jones Locker backwards, you can hear Noah saying, "I am the Grim Reaper"

Thought you'd dig Benfica in particular, PK.
Friendship Bracelet is probably PB's most underrated song, the early live versions are sublime.
I have never understood why I don't see more people talk about this song. The lyrics are pretty hard-hitting. I talked to Herr Borge about this in another thread, but I've always loved how the way the song flows, the way the chords change, seems to mimic the "moving on" feeling the lyrics have

one thing I'm sorry to say I kinda don't "get" about PBVSGR is the pacing of the first half.
Crosswords, BBCM and Boys Latin all have snappy, immediate starts too them. So immediate that a 'spacer' track was necessary (DJL). But right before those we have Seq. Circuits with its beautiful humming fade out, then Mr noah sort of starts from zero again, revving itself up with that really long-winded intro. To me it feels like the album starting up all over again.
So we go from su-per spaced out songs to snappy one-after-the-other tracks in the blink of an eye. Am I missing something here?
Part of me reckons the intro of Mr Noah should've been cut for the album version, because it works pretty well on the EP.

i think of sequential circuits as like a prelude opening to the album, then it really kicks in with mr. noah.

What program does Panda Bear use to record onto? I think it might be ableton live. I have ableton and when you save your songs it goes into a black folder. In the Panda Bear Greeting the Reaper video it looks like he has the folder on his desktop. Does anybody know?

Yep, in this interview he says he uses Ableton Live http://www.musicradar.com/us/news/tech/ ... o-615651/8

My friend Bradford Cox of Deerhunter was the first one to mention it. We went on tour together and we’d talk about how I used to use a cassette eight-track and that was essentially how I’d learned to record music and it was my favourite thing to use. I’d been using Cubase and he said I should really try Ableton - that coming from a four-track/eight-track mindset you could use it that way, and it was easy to use. It was on his advice that I started using it.

Quick gear question, since I don't wanna dig through 288 pages...
What was that older sampler/sequencer that he used when recording? It's in the black and white illustration. I know he used the Octatracks live, but he used a different machine in the studio and I can't remember now what it's called.
Thanks!

Good point actually, I didn't realize this. The Slasher Flix set from last year is super high quality so here's hoping that they record in similar quality this year.
Spoiler: show

Nice to see the Bear in another Australian publication! And although we already knew it, is exciting to see more confirmation of the new AC album.
