Every album they make has a certain theme and texture to it. Mpp - watery/rainy.
chz - alien/space. So I wonder what theme their gonna go for next. It would be cool if they made an island/jungle sounding album imo.

mpp sorta had the island/jungle thing but going full tropical would be bananas.
Spoiler: show

The CHZ boots sounded so tropical it's absurd. I didn't listen to every song but shit like Today's Supernatural, Father Time, Wide Eyed, Monkey Riches all sounded like something from a 24/7 party island. Maybe it's because Panda's drumming was really audible, especially at that P4k festival.

Dude! YES! That's what I was hoping for! The drums on CHz are so muted and the tropical favor is completely lost. Listen to the Tivoli 2012 show on youtube as well. Goddamn you Ben Allen!

Glacier or icy kinda environment would be tight.

Geographically speaking, I like to think Spirit takes place in outer space. Well, mostly tracks 1 and 3 but still
I think parts of Danse Manatee are probably supposed to sound vaguely pastoral/nature-y (the noises at the beginning of Ahh Good Country almost sound like insects?) but I think it just ends up sounded super creepy/weird because they didn't have very high quality recording equipment or instruments

Am I right in saying that CHz was written together as a band in a practice space? If so, I'm glad to hear that Dave and Noah are writing stuff solo and bringing it to new writing/practice sessions. I know MPP was written in that way, and it's far more cohesive and better written than Centipede....

i believe so for the most part. although i think i remember reading somewhere that NTB was actually written before by noah (and maybe another track or two? can't remember). but yea it sounds like they're going the MPP writing approach which makes me super excited as well

I'm skeptical that they'll actually record anything before the end of the year only because they usually tour material before recording it, and as far as I know they don't even have any shows booked yet. Plus PB is still touring through July.
Still super exciting though of course!!

Oh sick. Probably a fall 2016 release i'm guessing
I honestly have no fucking clue what this could sound like, i hope it's something totally different that I hate at first and then grow accustomed to over time

Yeah, I should clarify that I believe they will play shows this year but I doubt they'll record. And hey, I'd be happy to be proven wrong

Nothing thrills me more than thinking I could be at an AC show before the year is over

I predict a tour starting late July/early August that lasts for a month or two, followed by recording the material immediately after until it's done. Then album early 2016 (because there is so little time between promo and release all of the sudden. And look at panda's album, I guarantee you domino wishes they had gotten that out sooner.

hmm when I met Noah back in september he told me they were getting together in October/November so I'm assuming they already have got a lot together for this album

I wouldn't. It would ruin the magic, methinks.

I mean, I don't have exorbitant amounts of money, so I wouldn't actually do it. But it would still be incredible to witness how they actually come up with some of their ideas
I'd do it for one song, if I ever had the opportunity. Probably not a whole album, cuz it'd ruin the magic, as you said. It doesn't matter anyway since they're so secretive about their process that they'd probably never let a random dude in there

i dont think it would ruin any magic. nothing about ac seems especially mysterious, they seem pretty open about their creative process.
an anco doc a la wilco's "i am trying to break your heart" would be sweet (although presumably less dramatic).

someone said that with all these DJ sets going on that the new album might have a heavy beat influence which I think is a fair estimate.
also I have a new theory that the album will be an acoustic beat heavy album. the recent remix of queen in my pictures and the random acoustic radio shows they did during CHZ add to the theory. I would personally love more acoustics in their sound they haven't really messed around with that as an album since Sung Tongs and Pullhair Rubeye. And would love to see Screens pulled off live.

I absolutely love love love the idea of an acoustic album plus beats. I've been hammering Sung Tongs recently and it's so bright and airy and full of life.
