yeah, while i maybe slightly prefer the live version of "i remember learning how to dive" from the other music performance, i love the vashti version just the same. prospect hummer was always my favorite of their eps. that might have changed when fall be kind came around, but i still wrestle between the two. prospect hummer is so great tho.

I had a small back and forth with dave on instagram and I asked about the red dead song that he played live during the down there tour and have since been playing during the dj sets. He said that the song title is "Mountain Game" and that the newer version is Noah, Brian, and himself. Noah apparently only provided some vox. He also said that he's thinking of freebirding it. I was the person who got the song titles of the other down there outtakes out of dave at the knitting factory. He told me all of the song names that night but I was too high to remember mountain game so I'm pretty stoked to finally have a confirmation on that. Forgetting that name has been bothering me since then which was December 2011.

Nice, a "freebird" of that song would be pretty great. Do it, Davey!!
Also that's pretty funny that you forgot the title but finally got closure after 4 years. Going the extra mile

I dont think its a sample though. Its a pretty simple melody. just the most basic arpeggiator on a C

It isn't. The synth arpeggio just drew a ton of comparisons to Your Love when My Girls was first released. They had to change it to the synth from the original piano in the studio because it didn't sound right.

WHOA, totally missed this! Ahhh what could it be? Sung Tongs reissue with bonus tracks?? They didn't have any outtakes did they? (cause any ST outtakes ended up on Prospect Hummer I thought, although recorded in a different session)

I never knew that. Very interesting because I actually prefer the early piano version over the swathes of synth. How I'd love to hear some outtakes of discarded versions.

My post had nothing to do with the picture. I was responding to the post by Untitled that said "I dont think its a sample though. Its a pretty simple melody. just the most basic arpeggiator on a C"

Welp, I thought I could listen to all of HCTI with my eyes closed to experience it for the first time, and I fell asleep sometime after Infant Dressing Table. That was a very freaky and cool experience. I didn't start seeing things in a dream or anything, but when I was awake I sort of hovered there hearing the music but not being fully awake, making it like all of it mixed into one very strange atmosphere. That was actually a pretty cool experience, would recommend it.

Well, here is the whole convo:
"what about an official release of some of the rarer songs from the sung tongs era? it was tragic how long I went without knowing stuff like covered in frogs and always you existed. I know quite a few people that would love for those songs to get a real release outside of bootlegs."
"what about Sleeper Factory"
Avey: "there are no studio type recordings of songs like sleeper factory or always you. There just might be a special tongue songs release coming and theres lots to be heard and seen but what do i know wawa."

Have you heard the Together recording that popped up here a few months ago? If not, you're in for a treat

There is a lot of filler about halfway through and at the end of the CD, between "Visiting Friends," "College," and "Whaddit I Done."
