The fact that your bar has all the ac albums is amazing
funny ac-related experience i wanted to share with y'all:
tl;dr i very drunkenly put on several tracks from HCTI among other things at a dive bar and wrote down the funny stuff people saidSpoiler: show
pretty proto-vaporwave of them to just project the windows startup screen behind them
Wonderful times, being intrigued but not yet hooked, meeting them halfway by making yourself sit down and listen and then suddenly it starts to take shape.
the opening of lablakely dress on hollinndagain is one of the creepiest moments in their whole discog
what does "people, always gotta wash them at their ends" even mean?
was that song written through the perspective of a bidet?
Short answer: listen more until the songs sketch themselves more clearly in your mind. There's much more to it than a strum haze.
Longer answer: I was totally in the same boat as you. It's still my least listened to AC album, I reckon. I have to be in the mood for it, or rather, I have to have time to sink into its mood. What I love about it is that it's like a snapshot of an evening sitting out on the step with Animal Collective. It's not happy clappy, it's pretty gloomy and sad in parts but it's real and beautiful. Initially, though, I did think it was just a mush of strumming and gentle wailing. As with most of their records, I almost wish I could remember what it was like to hear these 'formless' sounds before they clicked. Wonderful times, being intrigued but not yet hooked, meeting them halfway by making yourself sit down and listen and then suddenly it starts to take shape.
Shortest answer: Doggy transition, ya dummy!
Prospect hummer will be on vinyl in 2015~*

I've never been able to get into prospect hummer really... I just can't seem to get used to Vashti's voice. It seems to mix differently with the music to how avey sings
