Boys Latin is the most complex, yet simple, song I've ever heard. Depending on how actively you are listening to it changes it SO much. Incredible.

I took this video myself and it came out pretty good...
but the real important performance of jabberwocky/jabawaqy/jabberwoqy/jabawhatever is the ATP recording, ie what clayton posted
Shit I totally forgot about this one! Wasn't really keeping an eye on the various titles on any of the tracks, just listened to a couple of boots through a few times so very familiar with the melodies and sounds if not what was what.
Got an offish .wav version of it yesterday and it sounds fucking great (if realistically quite similar to what was floating around). The flow of it's really growing on me

This and Selfish Gene are my favs atm. I'm forced to sing along when I listen to them.
I went there this year! It was really cool to visit a place I knew was the subject of a panda bear song. It's super beautiful and that tree is massive!

Uhh, dude. If you have a .wav version of the album, you should totally let that shit out of the bag! Everyone's already heard the album, so we might as well be able to listen to it in good quality, no?

It would be hilarious if it were watermarked with the recording of PeteK saying "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper" from the unboxing vid...like, if it were in there every 10 seconds

im sick of seeing people who just joined and their one post is in this thread asking for a pm. ridiculous. if, IF, we have something secret in this community, perhaps it was entrusted to us for a reason, and it doesn't make us arrogant to try to honor their wish to keep it private. stop asking for pms. i'm not a mod or administrator, but that's just how i feel after being affiliated with this community since 2005.

Some of the parts where it comes back almost reminds me of the Diablo 2 crypt level musics. Which, needless to say, I love.

Anybody know if the opening of Tropic of Cancer with the brass is a sample? if so, what's it from?

I remember somebody posting the sample, but it was on 4chan I think. I think it was a fairly famous British standard. Maybe military related?

He could have been playing the chords in Crosswords on there. Also, maybe the beginning of Lonely Wanderer where it sounds like the lowest note on a piano played in reverse?

^ thought the same things, tubby. theres always the chance that he played the debussy sample, but i doubt it... i was kind of unaware of his piano abilities before seeing that picture. he's more of a guitar guy from what i can tell

exactly! that little glitch in tropic of cancer at 4.15 ain't there and that's pretty much the only non-.mp3/.wav difference i can sense.
such a whopper album! Panda Bear and PeteK did a great job. That Selfish Gene really tugs at the aul' heartstrings.

It's a recording of the first 4 notes of the last post - tho ' I think it's analogous to
' stand down ' , ' stand down '
.... It's thru a vocoder .
I dig the mournful cadence .
The bugle has that beautiful scale of notes ,....
like those wind pipes u swing around yr head that echo the harmonic series . So pretty.....and sad....
I think it's magnificent ...
... In it's real sense .
Pure ore sum ...
Hope u guys are well & ready for some more ore ??
Morning ! XPeteK

re: tropic intro/last post trumpet sample...
when I heard it i thought it might be a heavily-effected sample from Bach's Passacaglia in C minor. Check out the first two notes:
it would also have to be pitch-shifted a little. but anyway, you get the idea. i realize it's NOT this, as confirmed above, but you should just listen to it anyway (the whole thing) because it is incredible.
and lastly, those notes that *do* start out Tropic are SO awesome. definitely a signpost that we've arrived at the next thing.
the whole transition from the previous song into Tropic is perfect. when the music ends and it sounds like a whole lot of tiny sirens (ambulances, police, etc.).... so cool! and as someone else mentioned above, the way the lingering chord bubbles back is awesome. it sounds comforting.
