i synced mary poppins and merriweather post pavilion (à la dark side of the rainbow), and it was pretty fantastic; there were moments of incredible synchronicity. have you guys tried syncing any of ac's other albums with any films? or do you have any suggestions of what you think might work together?

I tried Ponyo with MPP once and it only kinda worked... it worked better in my head when I was watching the movie for the first time.

this isn't ac but the soft bulletin and toy story make an amzing synch.

here is a run down:

The Soft Toy Story

This synch combines The Flaming Lips' "The Soft Bulletin" with Disney/Pixar's "Toy Story". Program the CD to repeat and have it paused and ready to go at track 1. About 30 seconds after the Disney logo disappears, Little Bo Peep's sheep are shown (close-up) on the racetrack. Start the CD just before this scene switches to a close-up of Little Bo Peep. (you can start as much as a second before the scene switch and it will still work)

There are lots of cool synchs in this one. "The Spark That Bled" goes really well with the soldiers' mission downstairs. Listen for the lyrics "I stood up and I said yeah!". The "chain reaction" part of the song is cool too. If things are lined up right, Woody should be seen throwing some punches in time with the drumroll that starts "The Spiderbite Song".
"Buggin'" is great - "...they fly in the air" is heard as Buzz proves he can fly. "What Is The Light?" should start right when the screen goes dark and Woody opens up the toy chest after spending the night in it. "Feeling Yourself Disintigrate" plays when Buzz learns that he is indeed a toy, and loses the will to go on.

I could go on with more cool synchs in this one, but I don't want to give away too much. After the CD ends, let it repeat. There are some cool parts on the second playthrough, but the movie ends about half-way through the CD. A cool synch beginning to end.

enjoy and experiment...

MPP works fantastic with some of Avatar. Bluish is made for the the alien consciousness sex scene.

Also not related to AC: I know everyone knows the Dark Side/Wizard of Oz sync, but a lesser known one is Pink Floyd Echoes and the travel sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Crazy trippy.

Awesome Thread Topic.

Ok, This is a single song but very powerful.

So lets start with The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Skip to the scene when King Théoden and the rohirrim charge.

Queue up "Acid Wash" From Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper!!

Begin the Song as Théoden starts to give orders to his captains.

If you do it right the end explosion should link up with the charge. Lyrics like "With a yell as you won against the deep/dark" are perfect with the theme of GoodvsEvil. "A frame changes course" was said when they flashed the image of Théoden's face right before the charge.

Also notablely: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers goes well with Pink Floyds "An Endless River". Start each from the beginning.

Did both of these on LSD to throw a monkey wrench into the situation.
