i think this might shoot up to one of my favorite animal collective related albums, just based on first impressions.
I've always been more partial to avey's style/texture, but this album man, it is incredible.

i'll hold onto any gripes until the full, proper release, but sufficed to say i'm never listening to pre-album boots again. it's a banger for sure, but i fell in love (too hastily) with too many things that didn't make it thru.

aw man this makes me really sad too, gotta be at least somewhat frustrating for panda and pete. then again haven't there been press copies out there for awhile now? kind of a miracle when something doesn't freebird these days

This album is just so touching to me. It has been a very deathy year for me, mortality has been high on my mind, family has been high on my mind, transcendence, confronting fears, letting go, faith in beauty through chaos, duality, love, acceptance, the deep fundamental unchanging parts of my conscious have all been high on my mind and this album just plays off so well to the tone of my own head space as to seem directly related in content. It really is moving to me.

Right there with you.
After much contemplation, I decieded that because I already purchased the record (and EP... And t-shirt...) that I could allow myself to download it. I laid down in darkness and just listened to the whole thing through. I not sure at what point I realized it but I became aware that I was practically sobbing, swirling internally into some inter-dimensional alien rainforest of myself and emotions I've long avoided. I haven't been this moved by music in a very, very long time. This record is just what I needed.
Thank you Noah and Pete.

3:54 Tropic of Cancer.
Guys, they did it. They did it... I started singing the response part that we hadn't heard in a while, just out of habit at this point, and i didn't expect anything then i realized i was singing along with panda and i couldn't stop the tears if i tried.

Selfish Gene was amazing but I couldn't help feeling a little dissapointed at the you'll trip up again part. He belts that out so hard in the live versions and studio is the typical super-reverb panda vox it's just not the same.
ps the outtro of tropic of cancer is too good.

wow, i'm not sure what i was expecting acid wash to sound like, but it wasn't that. but i loved it. turned out to be a really cool closer.
agree about the lack of belting at the end of selfish gene though

After my first listen, I'm finding myself actually wishing there would have been less reverb/vocal fx this go-round, but overall I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
Tropic of Cancer is exactly as I had hoped. Can't wait to throw this in my car.

There's def reverb, but from what I can tell there's not many vox effects, I love how centered and upfront they are in the mix.

Wow, I've been listening to these songs since summer of 2013. Can't believe I'm actually about to play the real thing. It will take a couple of listens to shake the boots off my mind. I totally overplayed what I had because the songs struck a nerve. Many of my least favorites as live versions stuck out amongst the best. Come to Your Senses, Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker, and Sequential Circuits are far superior in the studio vs his set. Mr Noah might even be the best thing on here! Take that back....Tropic of Cancer and Selfish Gene win. Crosswords deserves single status. And both of the new tracks, Lonely Wanderer and Acid Wash, shine with the tallest trees. Love the hi-fi-psy-fi interludes as well! Trying not to hype myself up too much but it's so good... damnit... sooooo goood!

Tropic of Cancer seems to be the favorite of almost everybody, including myself which is surprising
i had an idea of how Boys Latin would actually sound on the studio version and im kinda disappointed it didnt sound like that even though i made it up
