Killer job, Victor! You're an animal.
One of my favorite things about new releases has always been the deluge of remixes and covers you get after the final product is laid in place. In this case beforehand.
If I remember correctly there have even been a few times where artists have provided the public with all of a song's tracks/recording sessions individually so they could be reworked. I don't think that will ever happen with an AC related release, but how cool would it be to have fan made mixes from Person Pitch or the Greaps? Maybe even an old school reconstruction of Taste.
That said the mixes on this EP have completely blown my mind, and it's already pretty hard to imagine them sounding any other way. The boots are becoming but a distant memory...

the article directly references the "stunning seven minute ballad" Tropic of Cancer so i think it's safe to assume that the iTunes tracklisting isn't incorrect!

... and the garage on the corner can only fill those spaces thru crosswords"
so which songs are which? god these track name changes are confusing! haha
all i get out of this is that jabbawaqy, popadam, and cosplay won't be on the album, right? probs a boys latin ep?

Sorry for the shameless self-promotion, but have you heard my Jabberwocky cover? I tried to make it as true to the original as possible (using the Warsaw boot as my model). I'm sure it's nowhere near as good as the real studio version will be, but I hope it might help ease the wait.

ORE ! Live it .love it . Love it .love it ! Live IT !
psyched to master all yr mixes up if u hit target !
! Namouche !
Say ! Did u try to double track yr vox , least maybe up to the drum in - kick ?
U can also do it by duplicating your vocal track , then on the copy , take tiny chops out of the silence between lines / words & then at semi random , move phrases and words in
The copy around - some back in time , some forward - but only small amounts . More than 100 mili secs give or take !
Pea pull . Gotta say...... All the covers this far have been bitching !
Lets quote mgmt & Hi- 5 guise & lo fi gals !!.... & vice versa ,
all combos accepted & redeemed instantly , universally . ..
Cheers on The comps . Glad it's hitting some spots .
More Ning ! XpK

and if we only have 14 total songs between the ep/album (not including shadow/davy jones), that means there are FIVE songs we still need (6 if you count preakness too). unless that iTunes is in fact incorrect since p4k said tropic is 7 minutes while iTunes clocks it in at only 6. but if iTunes is right, i wonder what the other songs are that didn't make the album cut?
mr sonic reaper, can you at least weigh in if that iTunes listing is correct?

Damn so possibly another EP and Nadir = Selfish Gene and Garage = Crosswords. Good to know those made the cut.

Thanks for the kind words, PK! I did not double-track my vocals in this case. Usually I double-track them manually, but I'll have to try out your trick of copying and shifting the copy around a bit.

It's an imperfect and reductionist comparison but it captures the ridiculousness of that factual error appearing in a publication that usually gets such basic facts correct.

EP is amazing, album is looking even better, but the weird thing to me about "Tribe Vibes" disappearing is that "maaybe emoootiooons" was really prominently featured in the mixtape ha ha. so mysterious. unpect the exexpected

Good point! I forgot about that snippet in the mixtape. This helps reassure me that OG Faces in the Crowd will get some sort of official release (cause it would be kind of a dick move to put that in the mixtape and then never release it)
Edit: Some thoughts about Pitchfork calling Tropic of Cancer a "7-minute" ballad: let's say that Shadow of the Colossus is a transition, or maybe it's even the ending of Tropic of Cancer where it slows down and gets pitch-shifted down. Maybe Pitchfork included Shadow as part of TropCan, thus bringing its total runtime to 6:29. And then maybe they just rounded up from there? That would be odd though since that's still a full 31 seconds away from 7 minutes, and they also could have just said "6-and-a-half-minute ballad."
Just a random hunch. Or maybe the vinyl version of the album has a different tracklist and/or track lengths, and that's what Pitchfork's going off of?
Or you all could be right, and iTunes' track lengths are not correct

Record store day would be almost perfect timing for a second EP or a single to be released after the album.... About three months later

this is going to freebird so long before january. not sure why domino is giving a 3 month lead time on a finished album. hopefully the preorders make up for when it freebirds.
i can not wait to hear this freaking album. the ep is such a tease.

i dunno about that just yet - Tomboy didn't freebird until someone actually had the CD in their hands a couple of days before release. that was Paw Tracks too, a much smaller operation than Domino

Ebola, Ukraine, Syria, Gaza, Congo

it's promotional time. this record would be better served by a regular roll-out than a surprise release or 10-days thing because panda bear is not popular or well known enough to grab everyone's attention in one day. another song will come out before january, there will be big feature interviews and previews online and in print, I imagine it's getting as full a press as Centipede Hz.

yea I get that, but that's an older mentality. I think these days, people have very short attention spans. releases out of nowhere capitalize on the hype. preorders of vinyl and such are for hardcore fans who will buy no matter what. if the digital is released out of nowhere, there is no freebird and I'd bet you get more purchase from curious people rather than those same curious people downloading a freebird later instead of buying now. it's obviously finished and sitting in a queue for 80 days waiting to be freebirded rather than capitalizing now. just my opinion on current strategy.
I think to sell more now, you need to create instant hype with instant gratification. 11 weeks is too long to keep curious fans attention and just makes hardcore fans impatient. eliminating freebirds should generate more album sales imo. the longer it sits, the better chance of a freebird.

I don't wanna be rude but you guys are nubs. The boom said its because vinyl waits are ridiculously long. I posted an article in here earlier exploring that issue.
