Pete! Maybe YOU should try a cover! You are a member of CA after all...
I was actually wondering the other day what it would sound like if you covered one of Noah's songs... you thought about it before? Your "True Love Will Find You In The End" cover is quite honestly one of my favorite covers I've ever heard. It's so heavenly.

Just listened to the few covers that've been uploaded so far. The bar's been set high. Frumpkin, your Sequential Circuits cover is next level! I love how it speeds up, really nice energy. You really made it your own and it works really well.
Love the Robert Frost and Nadir covers too. The Nadir cover somehow reminds me of Neon Indian's Deadbeat Summer, haha. It sounds like the same synth.
I'm really hoping I can bang out my cover of Tropic of Cancer this weekend.

Boys Latin is so damn hard haha. Musically I got it down perfectly. Vocally.....not so much. Noah makes it look so flawless. By the time I'm done singing the song the proper way I feel like I'm going to puke. I think I'm actually going to leave that in the recording when it's done.

It does sound super tricky... have you tried recording 2 different vocal tracks, one for the low, one for the high? leaving your pronunciation really open, noah-style. just a suggestion... i can't really figure out how he did the vocals

is it cool if I give Tropic of Cancer a shot? I have some good vibes going for that one.

I would hazard a guess that it is almost certainly double-tracked - no way you'd be able to get through all those lyrics without a breather.

Really? Like how he has the words back to back? He sings normally and a pre-recorded Noah sings the echo after each word. Beasts-beasts don't-don't have-have, etc.

I'm going to record this, and vilent_sibrate already recorded a cover of it as well, but please feel free to go ahead and record a version as well.
Like onebrianeno said, anyone can do pretty much whatever they want as long as we don't piss another user off. Just have fun with it. We can have extra versions of songs etc

This is basically the coolest thing ever! but man does it put the pressure on. heh thanks Mr. Boom! I guess you're not too busy with other things?? no MGMTs or Panda Bears, etc. to handle?
while I'm at it, does anyone know of a cheap (under $50 preferably) USB desktop microphone that would be good for vocals? going to give it a shot. test runs on my phone were positive

Take me off of Nadir, please. Not sure how likely it is that I finish and I don't want anyone to feel like they can't do it. If I finish, I finish and we just have one more cover. There can never be too many PB covers!

I'll get this thread more organized in the next day or so. Waiting for results of a job interview gets stressful and time consuming.

I think I'm going to add more vocals, just to make it sound fuller. These vocals are a little sloppy.

This is so rad! I love how you play with the stereo field and that sparkly synth sound in the dark cloud section. Fuckin eh!
It would be so cool and something so special if we could get a whole version of what we know of PBs material out before the album drops! has anyone done that before?

Obviously our goal for CAvsGR is to have a similar story published, except this time on Pitchfork. And all major news outlets.

Okay cool thanks dud.
Or if anyone else has decided they aren't going to do their song, I'd give it a wack, but if not I could lay down popadam 4 sure.
On second thought i have less time to do popadam than i thought. It's all yours, there's like a 90% chance i won't be able to do it.

Ah I'm kinda behind on my Mr. Noah cover, if anyone else wants to give that one a try they can certainly go ahead.
