very curious/excited to see how songs like good house and island chase have changed (if they're even still around) based on how much the DJ set song morphed from it's original style
yeah i'd be really sad to see all those old tracks go without getting proper studio recordings of them but it'd also be cool to get an album of totally new material, so i could go either way i guess
I had a dream last night that instead of releasing an album, Deakin put out a really awful 3D animated movie about an old guy, something like this (but even worse):
And I was watching it and I was like, "this isn't even enjoyably bad."
Sorry to bump the thread while not having anything worthwhile to say.

Haha! I had no idea anyone on here knew about this horrible animated "film". I've had those sorts of dreams before, where Noah/Dave/Brian/Josh are making music or playing live in some bizarre scenario.
This is off topic, but the video below does a great/hilarious job of highlighting the awful-ness of this movie. I dunno if some people will find this guys' humor annoying, but it's one of my favorite videos of his.
i didn't wanna bump this thread without any news but now that you did i figure it's chill lol, i was thinking the other day about how it's been over a year now since deakin mentioned those posters he was gonna send out hope he's doin ok
gah. seriously, is this coming out ever? i love deakin and i trust he is putting all of his heart in this. but how late is this now? Wasn't it due for 2011? I just feel like this is on the furthest backburner.
Im wondering what the logistical reason is behind this incredible delay. If he's trying to create intense apprehension with a lead in to his first record, he's done that, but he's also alienated fans and it's come and gone on some people's radar..
That being said, I can't begin to imagine what the record is going to1 sound like. The band had gone through at least one era of instrumentation and song writing. He seemed like he was heavily influenced by tomboy, especially in terms of vocal production and singing style. I wonder if that will translate to the record along with the CHZ synthy baritone guitar taking care of the low end.
I'm sure he's recorded and scrapped 5 albums worth of material and versions of the songs over the years. It'll be very interesting to listen to the record with that in mind.it could very likely sound nothing like the one recording he has released and the set he toured. It would be cool if he released a retrospective of the process and progress of the jammies.
yeah what i don't understand is that he's had an album's worth of material as far back as 2010. and he's released some solid tracks already (wide eyed - chz, country report - keep tape, good house & guggenheim jam - ttg, that track from the dj set). so what exactly could it be that is setting him back? is he simply not satisfied with his own material?
I don't think Deakin is really serious about being a solo artist. I mean he's in his mid-30s and has only had like two or three self composed songs officially released, not to be ageist or anything.
I think he's cool just being part of AC,.
