There were a lot of mixed feelings about the drawn out Tomboy release and Noah himself has referenced the ordeal when answering questions about the release of PBMTG. This got me thinking about the two albums' release timelines so I assembled some dates.
Tomboy
9/11/2009 - two tracks played (Friendship Bracelet & Surfers Hymn at ATP)
1/15/2010 - whole set (HAU, Berlin, Germany)
4/12/2011 - album released
Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper
7/30/2012 - tracks played on CHz radio, assuming Soft Serve and/or Principe Real make it on the album
6/22/2013 - whole set (ATP)
??? - album released!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if we get the album in september as some things have alluded to (Red Bull email, U.S. tour, etc..) it will still have been a longer wait than the last go around. It may even be the longest gap between live debuts and released studio versions within the entire band's catalog.
I know the wait will be more than worth it, but man am I ready for this thing to get released.
talked with danny perez last night during the panda bear concert here in portugal, really nice guy
he said the album is actually coming out in january 2015
but, in september panda is releasing some tracks from the last year concerts (i think he said 4 tracks) and they are creating a website to put the visuals
so i think this confirms both recent rumors...
Anne Elephant recorded the whole show and i have some videos too, im posting in the next days

Lmao fucking called it with the early next year release. I hope that when he meant four tracks to be released that he was referring to an studio ep of the tracks that haven't been played on this tour.....a live release would be utterly pointless, considering that pretty much every panda show has been bootlegged anyway.

4 full shows (1 of them being an iPhone recording) since may of 2013 is no where near "every panda show." I doubt he means a live release if Pete has spent all this time mixing studio songs. Hopefully Red Bull still releases the Brooklyn show in August to tie us over with something really high quality. And if Pete can eventually come through with the ATP soundboard that would be extra awesome.
The silver lining in all of this is that we are definitely getting both an ep and a lp for this panda era.
This is about the worst I could have anticipated my morning PBMTGR thread read-through going...
It looks like the festival he is playing this saturday is going to have a stream: http://www.meltfestival.de/live.html
Not sure if he'll be broadcast though, the schedule currently only extends to tomorrow from what I can tell but probably a good thing to keep an eye on...
