Bad news for those attending the upcoming tour: Dave is sick and his voice is almost completely shot. He played for only like 45 minutes tonight in boston and didn't even sing for the last three songs. I talked to him after the show and he said he's going to try to keep the tour going but no guarantees as to whether he's going to improve or not

hmm does he have an underlying chronic illness? whats the deal? i guess its common to get sick at least once a year. maybe he'll recover fast. poor guy.

Wow, I really feel for Dave. Must be hard to come to terms with the fact that he's not going to make a proper recovery as long as he continues the tour in the shape that he's in. He should probably postpone the rest of the tour, in chunks, spread out over the rest of the year!

I'm amazed that he's been able to continue for 14 years screaming for an hour every night. Maybe he needs to start writing hushed ballads :/

These are both great ideas. I'm not going to assume Dave doesn't know how sing/project his voice properly but he's gotta do something to save himself from permanent damage. If this gets worse, I think it could signal another big change for Avey.... in his vocal delivery? will he consider being a studio-only artist (I wouldn't mind that)? Will he take an extended hiatus from music life? I just hope he's ok.

I was wondering if maybe he's headed for something similar to what happened to Joanna Newsom. She used to sing in a strained unnatural way, er naturally, and then she blew it out and got vocal chord damage, and then came back with a different, and kind of prettier voice... hmm

Im at moogfest and aveys sposed to play saturday. I dont care if he sings or not, i just hope he feels good when hes playing. And instrumental slasher flix set might be great - would be cool if they made up for the singing and jammed more loosy freaky. Whatever they do, i just hope aveys vibing

yeah, in the boot D.A.D posted, they jam for a bit in Duplex Trip and it's pretty cool

There are some choice Noah screams live but they're much more rare and only happen when Noah's really feeling it. I'd be ok with him taking over those duties.

Really sick clamz. I think the vox sound p good. If anything I would've just mixed them a lil quieter but I always make vox quiet so that's just me. I am amazed at how fast you can turn stuff out dude.
